Hey, I'm a c/Captain in the AJROTC program,( for those who don't know, AJROTC means Army Junior reserves Officer Training Corps.) and when I'm at school I hear people ask me if I'm going to be drafted in the army by being in the program, my anwser was always no, but now I'm hearing that it's a slight possibility that people can be drafted, so if anyone know, I'll really appretiate it, thanx Smile

exactly in other words join an ROTC unit or go to a Service Academy, Joining a JROTC unit is not joining the military but it's a good way for kids who aren't from military family's (and aren't driven nutjobs like me) to learn about the military

in oreder for the military to pay for your college in any way, you have to be part of it, or be on a contract that says you will

Jeez I'm only an A1C in a AFJROTC unit and I've got that down JROTC units are not military training units they do however look good on applications to service academys and ROTC programs so they are a steping stone for a lot of people who do want to join the military (me for example) but there are plenty of kids in my class who have no plans to join any military force but want to learn about the military as a possible opption to help pay for college and just have a general understanding of what goes on in the military.

There isn't going to be a draft... and even if there was, just because you are in JROTC doesn't mean your going to get drafted... being a captain I would think that you would have known this already...
