I know one man who would do anything for anybody. He has 6 kids, all of which have grown up and left home (cept one). He loves youth and goes out of his way to talk to, and help them when they are in need. He voluntees his time to drive and pick up kids that can't make it to youth activities, donates large sums of money to the youth organization I was a part of. Is the director of a Kids Camp and guest speaker at the Teen Camp. Puts hours and hours of his spare time into youth, and I have a lot of respect for that.

I think that a hero is someone who does the right thing regardless of whether or not people are looking. A hero does something that wasn't required of them but something that they wanted to do for someone or something else. I think a hero does what they do because they know thatin that moment or at that time, they know that they can make a difference, they know that their role adds up, and they take that and do something about it.

Well, a decent person probably already knows a hero who isn't 'famous'. The best thing to do is tell them how much they have helped and what it meant to you. Tell them they're a hero, wheather they think so or not! You just might make someone's bad day better!

A hero is someone who does not crave adventure or excitment. A hero would sacrifice himself to save others. A hero would choose honor over life. A hero...carries a lightsaber.

To me a hero is someone who is kind and unselfish. They want to make a positive difference and do so even if there efforts seem inadequate to others. Heroes have a passion and will never give up on it, no matter how discouraged they are. To me that is a hero.

Just look around you. There are heroes everywhere. Cops, Firefighters, EMTs, Search and Rescue, teachers, soldiers. They don't get enough credit, they risk their lives so that they can help others. These are everyday heroes.

I think I have a few. Some are school teachers and others are family and friends. I doubt that they know that I think this about them - them being heros I mean - but the only thing that really matters is that they're something special to me. Sometimes when I'm having a not-so-good day or when I feel like I haven't done anything with my life, I sometimes wonder if someone looks at me as their hero. I mean, we place that title on people we know that could be close to us or maybe even celebrities, but have you really ever given it any thought to who could be looking up to you as a hero? I sometimes find it comical that this society give the title of "hero" to sports figures or celebrities when the title should be going to someone else. Maybe they just don't fit my definiton of what a hero is. Okay, I'm done now. That's my speech.

I think a hero is someone who does something unselfish, and doesn't do it to get recognition for it, but to be a good person and to make the world a better place. If someone does something "heroic" and just soaks in the glory of it, I don't respect them, its doing something selfless and not expecting a reward for it.

A hero is some one who smiles to some one who seems like they are having a bad day, or making some one laugh or just hanging out with some one. I think it's about peicing together all the little things. Thanks Becky

What makes a hero? To me, somebody that has achived something big. Or, gone through something terrible and turned it into something positive.

I don't know, but according to one of the Catholic schools in my area the "devil with the blue dress on" is a hero. It is a long story, but basically, their beta club did some performance about American heroes, and that was one of the people thay named, along with the Incredibles and gangsters.
