I think having a small news section related to the topics on YN would help us to figure out the crisis going on in every day life. Why not that way we wouldnt have to shift through newspapers and would be able to get to our daily topic quicker.

In the meantime, if you want to know big stories, http://news.google.com/nwshp?hl=en&tab=wn is a good source.

We used to have a news ticker...but that news has been replaced with user-generated articles.

I personally enjoyed the news provided before. YN always found really interesting stories.

we have a "In the News" section on the forums but it's user powered so when you see a story worth posting in the paper do it. I would reccomend getting some of the big papers in an email digest form (I get the washington post, USA today and a few others as well as one the focuses entirely on military new stories)
