Camp Fire USA is a cute organization that helps kids build self-esteem and adjustment and such. They're doing a lot in tandem with Katrina victims, too.

Did I say strictly US based? No. I want a mixture. I want a choice.

quote: I can name many many problems in our country
I agree that the USA has many problems that need to be addressed, but I get the feeling that YN tries to be international and encourage membership from places such as india and Europe. The Just 1 Click would not appeal to them if it was strictly US based. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

How about the International Hospital for Children, I did a fundraiser for them last year when I was the Vice-President of the InterACT club at my old high school.

Ginger, thank you for your response. quote: We also want to think "Global"
Why? I mean, I know why, but the United States has enough problems as it is. I can name many many problems in our country. Here is a few: Homelessness Hurricane Katrina Sexual Preditors/Harrasment Violent Relationships Poverty Healthcare Oil to heat homes And those are just a few. I may be pro-America but that doesnt mean that I don't think we should mix it up. The world has problems, including the United States. Thanks for listening, thanks for responding. I am using my voice.

benje - We did listen. We heard that international campaigns were important. The November campaign was from the NMers directly and served the US specifically for Thanksgiving. In December we had a request for a Toy Drive - little else. Since we could not find a toy drive program that included sending toys to kids overseas, we decided to chose an international program - Doctors without Borders - so that December could get rolling. We may have made a mistake though we know how much good this organization does. All the doctors and nurses are volunteers. They contribute their time, expertise, airfare, housing in most cases. We have a suggestion for SADD on the list. We also want to think "Global" so if you guys want us to propse a few options, we will and put them in a poll so the poll-takers can vote. We'll try that for the next one so be on the lookout. We'll post it in the NoiseNews and on the Boards so you don't miss a chance to vote. And , if you do have causes you want to support tell us. We have a NMer working on a cause to bring school supplies to kids in Uganda. That may be a good one! So keep the ideas flowing. Send your suggestions through the email link on the home page. Thanks, Ginger, YN CEO
are you doing this?

Since no one at all is responding to the J1C board in call to action (or something like that), I am writing here. I would like to know if YN can pick 3 or 4 charities, tell them to us, maybe let us have our imput and they can use it to determine the next J1C. I almost feel as if you guys (YN) created a board for it but decided not to really include us in the choice. I don't see why we can't choose. I would also like to know why/how the past J1C organizations were chosen...just wondering.

Shout out to everyone who offered such great suggestions for the next Just 1 Click campaign. We went through all your posts and emails, and contacted a bunch of organizations. After much debate and a ton of meetings, we decided to go with a Just 1 Click for the homeless as suggested by DepressedWithoutReason. And without further ado...we'd like to present the next Just 1 Click, started by new NOISEmaker gymnastgirl! Start clicking!

No, it can be anywhere. I was just saying. If I was going to go around and do it would have to be somewhere were I lived. Unless, if I can set up a system where other people around the world could help too that would be fantastic. -DWR

Is there a particular reason why it should be in California...? Love, Jen.

YNMarkette, No, not yet. I'm trying to find some shelters and cancer treatment places. I can't find any. I'll keep looking and give you some up date. If anyone knows about any places in CA, that would be great. Sorry for the inconvenience and the shortage on information. But, maybe at Valley Childrens Hospital, or Kisar Permente (sorry not positive on spelling). I can try to sponsor money for cancer treatments or something. I'm not sure on the homeless info. though. I'll try looking in San Fransisco. They have a high poverty level. Sorry. -DWR

hey depressed, do you have any specific organization in mind for your Just 1 Click for cancer or the homeless? Or do you just want to see those causes be supported?
To everyone else, these suggestions are great. Keep them coming and in a week or so we can tally them up and take a vote on which ones should be the finalists.

I agree with DepressedWithoutReason, one click for the homeless. There are so many homeless people, and children that it just breaks my heart.
