Hey guys! I saw the picture/link of YN Summits on the main page and it links to an ebay page for a charitable auction. I was wondering what information there is out there about these summits...how they are going to work, etc... It didn't say anything about coming to New York City, only the greatest and most diverse city in our country! (And theres my rant about that) Any info would be great! Thanks

Well, in NY, Riverkeeper is a major player in the region's water supply. http://www.riverkeeper.org/I would also try to invite some of the region's lawmakers...Senators, Congresspeople (their representatives would mostly likely attend, if anyone--I interned at one's office, I know the guy who handles it for the Congresswoman), County Executives, mayors?. Another site: http://nyc.gov/html/dep/html/drinking_water/index.shtml I think it would also be interesting if YN spoke to Entergy, the company who owns Indian Point Nuclear Powerplants in Buchanan, NY. They are right on the Hudson River and directly affect NYC's water supply. http://www.entergy-nuclear.com/plant_information/indian_point.aspx Another interesting organization regarding water is this group, What's Tappening? which is based in NYC, I believe. Other key players in bottled water are also located in the NYC area: Pepsico and Snapple. Interesting maybe? Please let me know how I can help. I may be able to assist in brainstorming other ideas since I live in the NY metropolitan area. Feel free to email me...you guys at YN know my email!!!!!
This is aaawwwessomeee. Would love to chat with you more about the event. We had a sweet meeting with Parson's new school about some cool tech . Let's chat. Email me here: lauren@youthnoise.org Thanks!!

For the NYC summit? I don't think there are any updates yet. For everyone else, Meagan is right, the end is near. You can learn more here.

I was about to nominate NYC as a final summit location, but was happily surprised to see that it was on the list of cities already. Any idea when (do I dare ask where?) it will be? Knowing my luck, it will take place when I'm at college...haha.

Sadly, the closest one to me is the weekend before a major midterm and I have paper due. There may also be one other midterm in that week, too.

The first Summit was fantastic! We had a group of incredibly engaged, enthusiastic participants and a huge turnout at the Cultural Event. It was amazing!

Hey there! Here's some more info about what is happening at the YN Summits:
* These YN Summits will provide an online and offline space for a creative community event aimed at grassroots action and movement building. * Each Summit will consist of a 1.5 day conference and a Saturday night Cultural Event. * The conference will employ a participant-driven facilitation structure to allow the participants the freedom to create projects according to interest and need. * The goal of the conference is to engage local youth in the planning and implementation of at least 3 civic action projects per location. * The purpose of the cultural event is to have fun celebrating the local culture of art and activism. * Each Summit will be driven by local issues, tastes and culture to ensure that each event is accessible and relevant to everyone involved!

So I was trying to find out more information about the YN summits, and on the register page there was a spot to sign in with your noise name, so I did and I think I ended up accidentally registering myself for the Orlando Summit. I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Lo siento. It was an accident. Oh, and I tried emailing yall at the email address listed, and it was sent back to me, twice.

Except I've read that about 10 times, and it doesn't really answer many of the questions I've seen come up. Unless more are answered when you click register?
