Apologies have been sent from team on slow response which has mostly been in part due to a web hosting change which has been limiting our ability to address some site content and functionality revisions that are planned and in progress. The revisions will include, as requested, Gender Issues, Sexual Identity, and a few other related ones possibly.
I'm not sure what timeline is on this but please be assured this is will happen.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
I saw the options for gender on the quiz, and I'd like to say thank you! Haha. I hope you know you've made a few more people happy. ( I'm saying that with faith that the statistic of 10% of people having gender id problems is true )

but the fact that it didn't change doesn't mean they don't care, it just means they disagree.
Disagreeing about changing the site name and a profile detail are two completely different things. And also. Gender identity is a real issue, affecting real teens. And it should be recognised. Your name isn't an issue.

OK. I need some clarification. Is it the case that you all want to expand the causes to include: transgender, transexual, etc.? Or would it work to include as a Cause, Gender Equity - as I don't feel the labels are the cause, it is the tolerance around these labels that make the cause.
I thought I was clear? Gender identity would include all of those cases. It's a very inclusive term.

Then, under the photo box, the Sex request should not be that but gender? And offer multiple options in the choices?
That has also bothered me for a very long time as well, but I wasn't going to bring it up. Now that you have, it would be amazingly nice. Even just a male, female and other would be fine. Most people are just happy to have those, but I've seen sites with m, f, mtf, ftm, neither, both, or other, as well. Those are a lot of choices, though.
Meg, you mean gender identity. Gender preference is already there.

In our profiles, we are able to add "causes." As far as I know, the only thing requested was that "gender preference" be listed among these options.
Yes. It's that simple. Just change it and we'll be happy. Please.

Thanks, we'll make sure we have the right info in the development queue if you can help here. Also, ease know that these cause additions were a long time coming. They had been planned well before the issue arose on the Boards.
Kat, the thing is the mass majority of youth on the boards support this decision, the fact that YN has "denied" us as you put it seems rather unfortunate and I would like YN to come out and tell us that, instead of you making that assumption.
Yes YN can do what YN wants, but YN is here for us not the other way around.
It seems to me that you haven't been ignored nor forgotten, because they certainly recognized your request.
They just denied you. Which they have every right to do. If I asked the site to change its name to "KatNoise," they certainly would not have to oblige either. Obviously the two are not the same, but the fact that it didn't change doesn't mean they don't care, it just means they disagree.
I mean, it doesn't really make a difference to me. It may be different if I was a transsexual. But YN can do what YN wants.
