Hey, this is Dina - I found Youth Noise a few weeks ago while searching around the net for this particular charity thing I was looking for - and I thought it seemed like a wonderful thing, a place where young activists could come together to support each other while working towards the common goal of making the world a better place. But when I got this e-mail about "christiangirl" and how she was "ready to die for her country!" and Youth Noise's enthusiasm about her story, I was thouroughly disgusted. I thought this was a website to promote progressive behavior, but instead I find things so ignorant posted here, that I beleive I don't want to be a member of your little community anymore. "Christiangirl" cannot even spell and use proper punctuation, and you e-mail her story to every Youth Noise member as an example of a wonderful young activist? There are absolutley no benefits of going to war with Iraq, and I'm extremely dissapointed this website does not promote peace, but rather "patriotism." Some of the "opinions" I've read here are so ignorant and completely brainwashed I don't want to waste my time reading them anymore. "Christiangirl" is a perfect example of someone who imposes thier silly personal beleifs on others (just look at her name), which is where so many of our world problems come from. I would think a website trying to involve young people in helping the world would understand this, instead of promote more destructive ignorance. I don't know about all of you, but as for me, I will not be involved in any war that sheds human blood for oil. I will not be a part of such a hypocrital system, where we drop bombs on children because their leader may have nuclear weapons which our country itself has. I will not stand behind Bush while he slaughters people so he can have their oil and sell it and burn it, releasing even more unnecessary fossil fuels into the atmosphere. And I will spend my time with useful organizations that promote peace and tolerance, not "partiotism" and war. "Patriotism in the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons." - Bertrand Russell and for those who are interested, www.iraqwarwalkout.comwww.greanpeace.org

Well Dina, your first mistake was taking this site seriously. Your second mistake was forgetting that this site was made by an American organization and this is, no matter what you would like, a time of war. And every organization that doesn't want to be utterly destroyed by the media better be the ****ing bastion of patriotism during times of war. Just look at what's happening to the Dixie Chicks and Pearl Jam.
As a side note, you could argue that the media has a right to say what they want about these two bands just like they have the right to say what they want about the war in Iraq and the Bush administration. But you have to ask yourself, isn't the media supposed to be objective? (Hint: Yes. Yes it is.)

People can't call white people cracker Joey, just like people called call black people ni--gg--er.
However, people do it any ways and they get away with it.
Well, that's how it is here, at least
That's what I have seen people do so really it's not a double standard thing everywhere around the world. It's not a double standard thing here. You call a white person a cracker or say "pauly want an cracker" and then you see five white guys trying to chase the boy who said that (because it's usually guys who say things like that) down the street. Then he turns the corner and then from the corner, you see five other guy going after the white guys. Then they have this big fight thing.
Okay, it'd not like that exactly but people jump people and then the person who was jumped, gets his guys and jumps the people who jumped their guy. It's actually rather confusing.
Point being Joey: There's no such thing as being PC, being a racist, doing double standards over here where I live.
It's all about the respect you need for those people or they will jump you. Well, they can't jump the girls but the girls could jumps the girls.
I just mine my own business.
Oh you will love it here, Joey. Being chased everyday, lol, I'm kidding.
Okay, I hope what I just said was understandable.
Bye n Have a nice day

I wonder what Marine16 would do if he saw all these people uttering, "cracker." Hmm, probably not a damn thing.
So, I guess all of my ****** on YouthNOISE, and all my Low-Ridin' Homies be tight then.
Shiiiit.
Double standards. I hate political correct double standards.

Most likely because of the context in which it was used.

I love youth noise so I gladly support it and I respect everyones opinion even the person who wrote the orginial message. I think we should be grateful we have a place to talk, learn, seek advice, and develope our opinions. However, the person who wrote the orginal message should respect the beleifs and convictions of others even if he or she does not agree because that what youth noise is all about! Furthermore if he or she does not like our community then she should hit the road but hey that is my opinion and I willing respect all others opinion on this matter.

There is a tool that automatically filters out certain text. Some text, however, has to be edited manually depending on the manner in which it is used. Racial slurs are edited.
