You know what would be nice? If YN had a newbie guide/FAQ sort of page (in addition to the Rules of Play), with suggestions from NOISEmakers about what's going to get you flamed and/or yelled at, and what won't. Things like breaking threads, typing in ALL CAPS, posting repeat threads (hope this isn't one!), not using understandable english, ect. I've noticed a lot of newbies complaining lately that everyone's mean to them, and a lot of people who have been on here awhile complaining that newbies post repeat threads and can't spell. So I thought that perhaps a short guide to YN [n]ettiquete could be helpful. Just a suggestion. Love, Jen.

I feel like I've grown, kind of. I'm still shocked you said that about me. I guess I've learned a lot including the world doesn't revolve around Avril. It was fun for a while driving everyone insane, untill I realized what a moron I was being.

I can't believe this actually has benifited me. Nothing ever does. I'm so proud of myself!!!!!!! Hehe. Okay, enough said, back on topic.

Fantasy- You said no one ever trated me mean. Before I go and criticize you... Do you meen you just think no one ever did... or you know because you were here when I was new. I'm geussing you meant the first one, thats not true. When I first came everyone hated my guts. Many of them still do, but some acknowledge my presence.

We're not saying that we weren't newbies. We're not saying we hate all newbies. We just don't like the ones who don't have a lot of common sense, and think that we've never had a board about abortion or what we think of (fill in band/actor/politician here).

People were mean to me 827 posts ago... but I lived. I learned my grammer, so now I'm not hated nearly as much.

Well I'm a newbie and all of you used to be one. It would be nice to have a guide to help. But don't get mad at us.

They repeat a lot of boards not juct the boyfriend ones.

I agree, they'll repeat the boards on like, "My boyfriend broke up with me" and crap like that.

Ooooh... and for an example of how the people on YN expect you to act, go to the language (cussing, etc) thread in this section. When other yners don't like what you say, they answer sarcastically. (usually. or they just yell and curse. this really isn't a bad place though!)

You could just have a bunch of stuff on this thread about what to do and what not to do. And then when someone's being annoying, tell them to go read this. Maybe then they'll get it. Or they'll think everyone on this site is a jerk because they want to control what people say/do/etc. Not that I think that, but a lot of newbies do.


I started coming here like two years ago on a different name and I got yelled at the first time I posted because I didn't really understand how the people on this site work you know? It's like people expect you to be a certain way when you go different places and do different things. You just have to read up on the threads first and get to know people before you start posting.

And wait a whiillleee before you make your own thread. Otherwise people will get the wrong opion of you and ban you for life.
