I think they should put one in New Orleans. That city is diverse and has problems. Plus it is close to me

It seems that only 4 have dates, the rest are just stars on the map...though sounds interesting

There are six in California, and four of them are so close together. What a waste. None in Oregon. Why are there so many in California!? And don't say because there are so many people. There should be more distance between them. Only one in New England...

Thank you. It took me to the homepage when I clicked the "submit" button, so hopefully that's a good sign that I didn't accidentally register... While waiting for the promised "best four years of [my] life" (Various People), I found YouthNoise. http://tinyurl.com/2kbx5p

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

There's one in Minneapolis, the week before my fall break. I could potentially go, but I don't really know where to stay. Plus there's that lovely problem of transportation. Where I go to school is so small, people drive an hour away just to get Taco Bell. It doesn't have a Greyhound station. It kind of sucks about that especially because it's aimed at people who live in the area, or that's my take on it. If we don't live in the area, how will we really know the problems? I have to agree with the poor selecting of locations. Six locations are in California alone. While I understand that those places are diverse and have problems, so do so many places in the U.S. Like Benje and Meg have pointed out, New York, Chicago and Detroit could have all used an empowerment summit for youth. There are other cities I'm surprised were not chosen such as St. Louis/East St. Louis. I know you probably need to have places with lodging for a certain number of expected people, but if it's aimed on location, how much lodging do you really need? Besides, how many people are you expecting to attend? Aside from via the website, how are you getting the word out? EDIT: 150 spots. And I HOPE I just didn't accidentally register. :-/ I was just clicking cause I thought it'd give more info, so hopefully I DIDN'T register... There are none in the south, except for in Orlando, which is over 12 hours away.

Yeah, they didn't do a very good job with selecting good East Coast/Midwest locations. (Despite 3 active YNers in the state of Michigan, we not only didn't get a Detroit, we didn't even get Chicago!) "Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world.
