True. Right now, I'm more worried about getting myself to Oregon for college visiting, so my energy is channeled there. But whatever. I'll send you guys a stick figure of myself. You can pretend I'm there.

Hoopla!! Yeah, that's a good point. A global convention would attract the most serious members, and fundraising would still be a probability for those who are really for it (if they would have trouble cost-wise).

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

Looks like we don't harass the admin here nearly enough.

So far though we haven't gotten any YN admins totally on board...

I support the global convention. People are going to be travelling whether the conventions are global or regional, and maybe I've just been raised on a silver spoon but I think if we plan far enough in advance those of us determined enough to make it can make it to any location.
Of course, any location we pick will inconvenience a hell of a lot of people, but we have to get past that. I wish Lisa or Ginger would just announce a location and shut us all up about it.

I don't think I would be able to. I was just saying, the problem with only a few regional conventions is that many would still have to do significant traveling, myself included. AND, if that was the case, it would be more fun to do a global convention...

So, who would actually attend a global convention? It would be totally prohibitive for me cost-wise, and I wouldn't take the time to travel anyway.

But then would that mean the miniconventions are wherever our regional coordinator is located? Because if Yogore is the NE US...then that means I would have to go all the way to Mass...and with the amount of travel involved, we might as well have a global convention...

That's what I had intended; the YAB reps would take their area and be responsible for the miniconvention, and if something global is still a possibility, one or two designated coordinators should undergo that project separately, but only based on the miniconventions' dates, etcetera.

I think that we should do smaller regional conventions according to the YAB representatives.

So...I like FoD's coordinators suggestion... Are we stil talking mini conventions, or something more large scale?

Not technically...you got three regions, but central and the caribbean are both technically part of North America...and it's not the entire continent

Well that might be a good idea afterall then, especially since the YAB should have that much more to do
