Hey people, long time no talk.
Anyway, for those of you who don't know, I'm currently interning for YN at their headquarters in San Francisco. Anyway, I had an idea that I thought I'd run past you all.
For the politicos among us, I was thinking of hosting a LiveChat on AIM during major, nationally-televised political events- the State of the Union address, presidential debates, election nights, etc during which everyone could talk about the events. This instant messaging format would make instantaneous conversation/debate a lot easier than it is on the boards. I know that some of you do this already, but this would be more formal (or as much as an AIM chat could be) and we would try to keep on topic for the most part.
Anyway, we don't really have the technology right now to host this on the site, which would be ideal, so we would have to host it on AIM. We could do it so we name the chatroom and those who want to join could invite themselves in.
So basically what I'm looking for is feedback. Is this a good idea? How could we turn it into some sort of content on the site?
Let me know. Thanks.
