I agree with iluvjp and I don't think youthnoise should * it. Even if you aren't a s.lut but you dress like one, how you dress gives an impression of who you are and in today's society people are judged by what they look like regardless if it's right or wrong. But..Usually when I say or hear people say something about someone being a s.lut because of their clothes they are saying it like, "she dresses like a s.lut" or "she looks like a s.lut" and not "she is a s.lut."

I agree with you about that, but why would you want to look like something you're not, especially a s.l.u.t???

The way you dress, and your outward appearance may be the way the first thing that people judge you about. Therefore, if you are dressed s.lutty, it's assumed that you are. But that isn't necessarily true. For instance, I am pierced on my face, and as a lot of punk people are also pierced, it is assumed that I am punk, which I am not. Just because someone looks a certain was doesn't always mean that their appearances reflects their beliefs and personality.

Actually, the way you dress is one of the first ways a person dtermines your personality and thek and the kind of person you are. For example: punks, preps, goths, s.l.u.t.s, jocks, etc.

s.lut: 1. a dirty, very untidy woman. 2. a sexually loose woman.

That's why a s.lut is considered a bad thing.

But you have to keep in mind that they way someone dresses isn't necessarily an external expression of who they are on the inside.

If a person likes that style, what's wrong with them? They dress like s.l.u.t.s, but then they complain about being called one.

i didnt start this in my school, and i wished it would end, but theres like all these groups like the preps, dorks, normal people cheerleaders, exc... but anyways we now have a S.L.U.T group and it drives me crazy. basically they loves to be called ****s Roll Eyes and they just dress in really sleezy Brittany like clothes. so i dont think its really a bad word anymore...

The way one dresses does not imply much about his/her personal life..

well to be honest i know some people who love being called s.l.u.t.s. and i would have thought that that is very degrading but they think of it as complements. i dunno they aren't s.l.u.t.s. either it's just they wish they were and its kinds sad. i hope they grow out of it. sooooo i guess it depends on the person you talk to, the name of s.l.u.t. could be a good thing to them. sad as it is.

Yeah, I know there could be different reasons, but a woman still could find another way than giving away her body. Anyway, yes I know the word gets taken out of context alot, but most of the time is doesn't.

But to many people dresses a certain way doesn't make them think that person is a s-l-u-t or acting a certain way doesn't make them think that person is a s-l-u-t. It's all about the sex, that what makes people think someone is a a s-l-u-t.

However, people take the word s-l-u-t way out of it's context and it really does hurt the woman. The person who is hurting the woman is using the word in a wrong manner and the woman maybe is not a s-l-u-t at all but because she is being judged by the way she dresses and acts, it now gives you the right to hurt her.

and who cares if she give sexual favors and she really is a s-l-u-t, you don't know anything about her. She might be doing this because she needs money for her dying mother or does it because she got raped and she feels unloved and finds love in sex but it's all fake in th end, you just don't know.

if you think someone is a s-l-u-t, I would help them and be there for them instead of judging them.
