We had threads about it. You can look for them under newbie guide or something like that. "You learn about equality in the classroom but you find out about it in life" - Campus Confidential www.myspace.com/yogore

Hallelujah. Ooops, I guess we don't need the religious groups after us along with the WHO, the UN, Peta, and World court.
I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for wha

I see it didn't take long for this to become the most random thread out there... I think it's an idea that's long overdue. Although the dumb newbies who need the help are the ones who probably do very little reading...thus we would need to find a creative approach...

I think that WHO has bigger things to worry about than a Shock Collar epidemic

I don't know about this "World Court", and the UN is fairly tolerant of torture, considering they're experts themselves, but WHO would certainly have something to say (or even do) about it.

if not PETA, the UN and world court but then considering their track record we don't have much to worry about there

So we have a problem, now solutions? Solution should be "attention grabbing" So how about those fun pop up tips you get when you open Word or Powerpoint... We can have one that says "prior to posting run it through a word document spell check"

I agree There have been a lot of "newbie guides" and they haven't had sucess. Most newbies never even read things like the rules of play or those threads. I didn't until a while after I joined. If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting some sort of YN publication newbies would receive upon registering with YN. There've been a lot of newbie guidance threads that haven't done much good, so it does seem like something like this is in order.
The problem is, very few people would read it. I'd wager good money a majority of YNers haven't even really sat down and read the rules of play.
What would rule is some sort of attention-grabbing system that would make a newbie hesitate before making his first post. For instance, if a pop-up with some of these rules appeared when a newbie tried to make his first post, that could maybe be effective. Especially if it started out with something like, "Wait! Don't make a fool of yourself out there! Read this first!"
