Video Game Players to be specific and it's bipartisan now. Democrats and Republicans alike in the house of reps today made major assholes of themselves complaning about how we should keep violent games which can influence the minds of our yound people and turn them in to small versions of 50 cent and other "gangstas" away from them. Well as a gamer I have to say that I have never wanted to machine gun a neighborhood, after playing Grand Theft Auto for example which has become congress's whipping boy for violence in Video games. However I have had the urge to machine gun the US Capitol building while watching C-SPAN. This whole issue leaves me with one question, why the hell are we dealing with this? The issue of violent video games and how they get in to the hands of kids is not a goverment issue if parents let their kid play Grand Theft Auto that's their look out! there are warnings and ratings on video games that planinly say this is a violent game! We have issues going on that goverments should be dealing with. The national debt, the war on iraq and on drugs, prisons filling up. I mean hell those issues are just off the top of my head I'm sure there are hundreds of issues that are actually important that congress could be working on but instead the choose to prove themselves as a collection of incredible assholes and concentrate on what video game I'm playing at the moment
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done"."

Uh, Amp, you may not believe it, but there are tons of studies linking video games and other forms of media to aggression if not outright violence. Complete with well-known examples like Pearl where a kid who never held a gun before got, IIRC, 8 out of 9 headshots. I agree with you on 90% of things, but just because you aren't influenced by video games doesn't mean everyone else isn't either.
Liberals prefer equality - all people should be equally poor, unsafe and badly-educated.
