Okay, Bush's latest Supreme Court nominee. How big is the fight to confirm going to be? Are Democrats going to filibuster? It seems to me that the Democrats really want to defeat this guy. Thoughts?

I don't think they'll filibuster. Only because while he's a conservative, he's highly qualified. But I agree with clpo that the court needs another moderate. But Bush would NEVER nominate someone he believed would sway on abortion. Ever. This really is Bush's last chance before even Republicans are like...seriously, dude. Miers was such a joke.

Did you hear what Bush said regarding the Supreme Court? Something about choosing people who will interpret the law, not make it. He'd better stand by that. Just a thought. I'd much rather prefer a moderate like O'Connor than a conservative like Alito. The Supreme Court should be a neutral entity to effectively judge cases.
