this is something that the indian media has been debating a lot about recently...
its about whether geting raped is a girls fault or not..most people belive that if a girl dresses provatively she deserves to be raped..and keep in mind traditionaly the indian society is a very conservative one...its just recently that girls have started wearing western stuff and esp gowns and stuff..
so what do u think? who is to blame ..the girl for dressing provocatively or the men for being themselves?
one more thing...should a rapist get a death sentence?

That kind of argument should've died already. The way she dressed didn't violate any laws, the rapists' wrongdoing did. They can't hurt someone and say it's because she didn't fight hard enough.

That is a great way to explain it. The force is what is wrong, not the dress style. Come on, you cant blame the "rapee" for being a person.

No comment on the death sentence, let the jury make the judgement.

I agree with Celtic on this one.

If you put yourself in the position (like giving oral sex), then I wouldnt call it rape. But no girl deserves to get raped - it is never the girls fault if a man makes her give him sex.

I dont think rapists deserve the death penalty, because frankly, death is way too easy compared to living hell-on-earth in a prison, where they will get to feel the pain and embarrassment of getting raped.

Wow, well here, everyone dresses provocatively.

No, I don't think a girl who dresses provocatively should be raped. I do think, however, that if a girl is, say, performing oral sex on a guy, and he has intercourse with her, even if she says no, that it isn't rape. I'm sorry, but don't rub the lamp if you're not expecting the genie to come out. In other words, if you're doing something sexual with a guy, take in mind of what might happen.

Do they deserve the death sentence? As much as I wish death to my rapist, I'd say I'm much more pleased with the fantasy of him being raped many times a day by prisoners.
