Yes, you heard it right. Texas may have executed a completely innocent man.
I'm guessing this isn't the first time it has happened recently.

It's ironic that the human race exerts such considerable effort to locate other habitable planets while being so hellbent on destroying the habitability of our own planet.

Yeah, 15 or 20 years down the road.

death is very humane its a part of life. killing people for revenage has been our very nature since time began. look at caine and abel. ( i understand your point and actually agree with you but i'm just used to playing devils advocate i couldn't stop myself)

That might not make any sense but right now I'm too tired to explain it to you or to care .......

Marine: It means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

The alleged last words of Jesus. I thought they sounded cool. Besides, it fits my idea of how this whole world is going down the drain. I'm not terribly religious, but I know a good quote when I see one.

Actually, capital punishment is used a bit overmuch, especially in Texas. Didn't you read the part where it said he was put to death in "the nation's busiest execution chamber"?

Personally, I'm against the death penalty. The sole reason is that it's not much of a punishment. As opposed to ending his life and relieving him of his troubles, why not stick him in a prison cell for the remainder of his life? Besides, by doing that, you eliminate the chance that an innocent would die wrongly. Instead, once enough evidence is compiled to show that the convict is truly innocent, you can just go to the jail and set him free. It's really quite touching to see a wrongly accused person walk out of prison into the arms of his or her family.

On a lighter note, I took one look at that picture and thought it was my high schools vice principal. It sort of freaked me out, until I realized it's impossible for a man whom I saw at school today to have died in February 2004.

ow should you be the one to say its unhumane ...why don't you ask the parents, or whife, or husband, or children, ect. of the victums, and see what they feel.

No matter what they've went through, it's not humane. It's revenge. Revenge is never humane even if it's deserved.

I heard about that. It makes me so mad. I hate the death penalty but all my friends are for it. I really think it is totally inhumane.

The death penalty is barely used obviously, and used only with EXTREME cases, how should you be the one to say its unhumane ...why don't you ask the parents, or whife, or husband, or children, ect. of the victums, and see what they feel. It's not about an "eye for and eye" it's about punishment...I dont think a man whose killed 5 people brutely, raped, beat, killed on some sick way, should be able to eat 3 meals a day, get to sleep on a mattress, have plumming, showers, ect...im not saying prison is a breeze, but I'm saying that there not even worth that. But in reality I dont think any of us can really understand the subject unless you have been through it with someone...and when you feel the feelings you feel when your friend brother sister mother father ect has been brutely killed, then you can decide.

That is horrible. I am from Texas. A democrat, and fundamentally against the death penalty.

And this is why I'm against the death penalty(also the fact that I don't agree with "an eye for an eye..."). It just makes me sick.
