Very Christian indeed... Pat Roberson (a charismatic-type psycho with a religious show) has called for American agents to assassinate Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez, accusing it of being "launching pad for communist influence and Muslim extremism". More on it.What do you think? Personally, I know that US-Venezuela relations aren't exactly perfect, but I think Roberson's statement clearly crossed the line. Whilst he has a right to express his views and opinions, he should keep his pseudo-God-like arrogance to himself and such extreme views to himself as well, considering he is a public figure. At the very least I'm glad the government hasn't listened to this nut case.

Oh yeah, totally agreed Celtic; Not only was it not very Christian to call for assasination of someone, but also that he had lied about it! I haven't really heard much of this issue, but Roberson definitely sounds like an arrogant moron trying to play God Himself according to the MSNBC report...

Who would Jesus assasinate? -Comic Anyway, I thought it was funny.

It was from Lying Liars, actually.
And then, as the books were told, Fina replied: "A can of worms, my dear friend? What has this to do with reason?"

Is that from his book the "Lying Liars," etc. etc.? The name's kind of confusing. Just wondering.

When it comes to inadvertent hilarity, The 700 Club remains unrivaled. I think the time has come to quote Al Franken: quote: I don't know if you ever watch [Robertson's] show, The 700 Club. I still watch it every once in a while to stay current. And when I do, the highlight is always when Pat does his faith healing. He'll say something like, "There's a woman in Ohio who's just been cured of her diverticulitis. Praise God!"
I watch that, and think to myself, Pat Robertson doesn't think through everything he's saying. Think about it. Let's say for a minute that you're a woman in Dayton and you have diverticulitis. You turn on The 700 Club and you hear Pat Robertson say, "There's a woman in Ohio who's just been cured of her diverticulitis. Praise God!" And you think it's you!
Only, it's not you. It's a woman in Cincinnati. But you think it's you. So you eat a bowl of nuts. And you die!

I had to write about the Op-ed with him in it. I saw his show once and wanted to laugh out loud. Every show, i guess, they tell you how someone was healed by simply watching their show. He is a supporter for Bush and wanted to use his show as a backup for the Administration. He even ran for presidency at one point. He is known for making radical comments, thats how he's well known. He once said that Florida kept getting hurricanes because the gays were having a gay-day over at the theme parks. stupid if u ask me.

It might have something to do with Bush's arbitrary war. I don't know...that's just an idea.

Could you imagine the **** parade if a Muslim activist made a public announcement, on a public television show, to encourage someone to assassinate Bush? Because it's crazy, kooky-old Pat Roberson, everyone's doing all but disregarding his comment. Oh, that Roberson and his crazy assassination encouragement. Silly man.

Yeah, but before it was shocking and stupid, but a common belief amongst Christian stupid fanaticals.

Pat Robertson represents a common pattern in the U.S.: Christians who represent conservatism, and not Christianity.
