Mrs. Sheehan should be treated with sensitvity, and respect, but I think that she has been hijacked by some of these left wing peace activists. In June, 2004 Mrs. Cindy Sheehan met with President George Bush at Fort Lewis, Washington. This meeting was reported on by Mrs. Sheehan’s hometown paper “The Reporter” of Vacaville, CA. : “I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis, I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith.'

No, he started a campaign, a theater, just like FDR started the North African campaign in 1942. The war was started on September 11.

Ironically, in this case the most likely thing that would make her son's death pointless would be to pull all the troops out now and write Iraq off completely. They weren't happy, but they also weren't the ones that enlisted. Thier sons and daughters did, and in doing so they knew what they were signing up for. This mother is owed nothing more than the explainations already given and already availible. If she doesn't agree with them or doesn't beleive them, that's her problem. quote: i hope he cares. he should, because these people are over there fighting a war that HE started. he should be over there himself.
it's all about the money. the war.
Shut up and stop repeating rhetoric. It's obviously NOT all about money, and Bush is obviously NOT the only one who started it. Now stop filling the forum with BS.

no, I never said that. however, people need to realize that when you join the military, there is a chance you could go to war. thats what the military was formed to do. My dad was in the military (heck, my whole family was) and it just ticks them off because thats whats war is all about - to fight (and maybe die) for your country.

yeah, I agree with yall... oh yes thats right, this young man was drafted into the war and had to fight. um no, this is what people forget - you had the choice. People werent forced to fight in this war, they willingly joined. And I'm sure that man was accepting his paycheck every week until he was killed and there was no complaining from his family then.

I do think that Bush cares about those killed. Although I disagree with Bush's policies, he is not heartless. I agree with Stranglove and Reactionary.

As much as I do not like Bush, I must agree with the doctor and reactionary.

If Bush concedes to one, he'll have to talk with everyone individually.

quote: what do you think? does he genuinly not care about the families of those killed? or has he just become immune to it?
I think what the situation here is that you have a fanatically anti-war mother who's simply going to rip into Bush because she's grief stricken and a total wacko. There's no reason he should subject himself to that. And if I was him I would not take much crap from her, dead son or not. The odds are nothing will satisfy her.
