Okay, I'm wondering. Who's read this article? quote: Girl dies in peanut butter kiss Some people are severely allergic to even the smallest peanut traces A 15-year-old Canadian girl with a peanut allergy died after kissing her boyfriend who had eaten a peanut butter sandwich hours earlier, reports say. Christina Desforges, of Saguenay, Quebec, died last week after she failed to respond to days of treatment.
She had been given an adrenaline shot, a standard treatment for anaphylactic shock, almost immediately after she suffered a reaction.
A peanut allergist in Montreal said the case is "very rare and worrisome".
Ms Desforges' 16-year-old boyfriend had kissed her some nine hours after he had eaten peanut butter on toast, the AFP news agency reported.
"She was extremely allergic to peanuts and her boyfriend didn't know," a reporter for Canadian broadcaster TVA said.
Ms Desforges was taken to a hospital in Saguenay, about 155 miles (250km) north of Quebec City, where she died.
Hospital officials refused to comment. A post-mortem is due to be carried out.
Rhoda Kagan, a peanut allergist at Montreal's Children's Hospital, said some people have an "extremely low threshold" of resistance to peanuts and their traces.
"This varies greatly from person to person and is highly unpredictable," she was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.
Peanut allergy symptoms can include hives, a drop in blood pressure and swelling of the face and throat that can block breathing. ---BBC News What are people's thoughts? Who's wondering whether this boy is in serious need a therapy yet for unintentionally killing his girlfriend. I think she was too young to be kissing, but it's still monstrously sad.

I read this in the paper. I think the headliner read 'the kiss of death'. It's a really sad story. If I was the boyfriend, I think I'd be too afraid and scarred to kiss someone again.

She should get a Darwin Award, this peanut allergy girl. And CSI is the CBS show "Crime Scene Investigation" where a forensic team from the Las Vegas PD investigate crimes. There's two spin-offs -- CSI: NY (in New York, duh) and CSI: Miami. The original CSI is the best, though. And the number 1 rated show. (Except last week when it was on during Thanksgiving and Desperate Housewives beat it out.) It's WICKED awesome. Jorja Fox is yum.

Okay, I have to ask. What the heck is CSI? @Euterpe: Yeah, she was stupid. However, people die of stupid causes all the time. She should have told him. I agree. But think about it. She still died. It's still sad.

Hey I eat peanut butter on toast whenever we have good bread which is not very often. still I find this tragic and hilarious at the same time. I means it's sad she died but the cause of death is pretty funny and I agree with Euterpe's earlier comment "Freakin Candaians"
"The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done"."

I don't feel bad for her. She's obviously an idiot. If they're together to the point where they are sticking their tongues down each other's throats...it's a good time to tell him he can't touch anything with peanuts and then touch you. These are the times when I want to believe in divine intervention. The one time he eats peanut butter on toast (not really a normal 16-year-old boy snack) he kills his girlfriend.

Poor girl. I mean, it is funny as hell. But imagine what the guy must feel like, killing his girlfriend because he decided to have peanut butter on his toast. What guilt - yeah, he is probably going to kill himself someday.
I like these calm little moments before the storm.

Sucks to be him now. Unless he MEANT to kill her. Dun dun dunnn. Freakin' Canadians.
I don't think he meant to kill her, but you never know. IT COULD A MURDER! GASP! This does reek of propoganda...but hey. I'm for no sex before marriage, but I don't think kisses are sex...so long are you're not sitting there sucking each other's faces for an extended period of time. Anyways, I'm seriously hoping this poor boy isn't traumatized for life...yeah he's sixteen, and I'm referring to him as a "poor boy" when he's older than I am...so?

quote: mean there's a guy in my school who's severely allergic to peanuts and EVERYONE knows so that we'll all be careful, for us its not personal, it's just to be safe. DID
According to other reporst I've read, he did not know about the allergy. Anyways, I'm going to be fifteen in less than a month, and I think it's too young. I'm not a stupid adult who doesn't understand the thing. But that's beside the point. I think it's extremely sad.

Wow... that's really interesting, not to mention weird. I mean, can you imagine being THAT allergic to anything? Wouldn't you be scared all the time, or would you be able to just live with it? I'm not sure if I would. By the way, why didn't her boyfriend know? Did she not tell him? Why not, I mean, all of her friends must have known, was she worried her boyfriend wouldn't like her anymore if he knew? I personally don't think that's something to be ashamed of, as much as it would worry me all the time. And if she didn't tell him, wouldnt somebody have mentionned it? I mean there's a guy in my school who's severely allergic to peanuts and EVERYONE knows so that we'll all be careful, for us its not personal, it's just to be safe. DID anyone know? Was this a big secret kept from everyone? If it was, how could she go over to a friend's house and not tell them? I can't imagine that call to her parents, they must be in so much pain.... By the way, I'm also 15 and just beause I've never been kissed doesn't mean I think I'm too young, I can drive and I almost have my liscense fo rcrying out loud. How can you be old enough to be out on the road by yourself and at the same time to young to be kissed?
