My point exactly. And about the "Moslem" part, yes, it is a variant of Muslim. I apologize for that, I did not know.

quote: It is "Muslim" not "Moslem."
Actually Moslem is a variant of Muslim, so it’s the same thing. Check the Dictionary. Now with that trivial item is out of the way let’s move on to the real issue, I presented some reasons why it is reasonable for the Burka to be banned in public and your only response is how stereotypical I am. Well just so you know that not the best response. I have an activity for you, put on a ski-mask, and a baseball bat and go into a store, then when the police come, you can tell them how stereotypical they are being, for assuming that you are a criminal, just because you look like one.

quote: Great response really.
She was correcting your spelling. It is "Muslim" not "Moslem." quote: First of all this whole Moslem head covering think is stupid. How disrespectful. Actually, your entire post is just so stereotypical that I'm not even going to take my time with it. You make me sad, really, you do.

First of all this whole Moslem head covering think is stupid. They are required by their religion to where the things and people who go into their Moslem countries are required to do so to. As for whether countries in Europe should ban them, or not. I think so. If I walk into a store with a ski mask on people are going to get really up set and the same standard should apply to these Moslem women. People just can’t go around hiding there identity. Take this scenario. A Moslem terrorist leaves a backpack bomb, in a daycare center, which explodes killing dozen of children. They catch the person on video but are unable to track down the killer because they are wearing a burka. Also there is the issue of the countries culture if you want to live like a resident of Saudi Arabia, you should stay in Saudi Arabia, you can’t expect to be able to move to a new country and live in the same way as you did there. If I go to a Moslem country I can’t have a bible or were a cross. If Christians can live with it in Moslem countries then Moslems can live with our rules in our countries.

I think the media is responsible for demonising this culture, and the attacks they have recieved in recent monts has only surved to alienate many even further, thus the number wearing the niqab has risen. There should be no such ban, the issue should be forgotten as quickly as possible so we can all continue on in harmomy as we have for many years.

quote: Well, as headscarves are banned in France I'm pretty sure that the burka and niqab would be as well. France claims it's prohibited all religious symbols, but in Islam not covering your hair is a sin so it's much more than a symbol.
France has not banned the headscarf, it has banned all religious symbolism in schools. This issue is hot in the UK right now too, after an MP said he would rather muslim women de-veiled before meeting with him, merely because he felt they inhibited the wearers ability to communicate and fit in. The issue was batted around the political arena for a few months until the media got bored, and the amount of women wearing the niqb has gone up.

Something similar happened in France, I believe. It's ridiculous if you ask me. Particularly because it's blantantly directed at Muslims.
