do any of you find that all your friends are, or want to be in a gang. There are loads of different gangs where i live that all pretend to be different when really they are the same. I dont want to be in a gang. i dont see the point but there is enough peer pressure at school to join one. no one likes gangs except for the people in them. so why join?
there is a really cool load of videos by guys who used to be in gangs but got sent to jail. they are now warning people against the dangers of being a gang member. its on this site where they post video interviews and footage relating to different contemporary stuff. check it out its called True Tube, like You Tube only with mroe interesting stuff. www.truetube.co.uk go check it out for yourself

Like mszxmelli said, a lot of times being in a gang is a way to survive. I think it also provides a sense of inclusion and security, though only for a fleeting moment. Sometimes there are family ties to gangs, or maybe a close friend gets involved in one.

It's incredibly hard to stand your ground when faced with peer pressure, especially if something looks like "the only way". People have to remember that there are consequences to every major decision made and choose the paths are right for them.

If you live in certain neighborhoods being in a gang is more of a survival technique than anything else. For some people their gang is like their family and also serves as protection. when you grow up in certain places you gotta learn to be tough and thats why some people join gangs. I'm not saying its right im jus explaining why they are there. Inner city neighborhoods need to be reformed so people wont feel the need to join gangs.

Gangs in the suburbs are stupid and fake. They don't do shiet. The only gang related activities they do is sell drugs and they just join cuz they think itll make them look cool.
