I'm not saying it's odd that a congressman is corrupt. I'm saying it's odd as hell that the govt is actually doing something about. William Jefferson (D) of Louisiana was recently idited on more counts of what breaks down to corruption than I can count on both hands and feet. There are accomplices who have already plead guilty and are now turning states evidence on Congressman Jefferson. Put simply this guys in it neck deep. Included among the evidence was $90,000 in cash that was hidden in frozen food boxes in Jefferson's freezer. So we now know what it takes to take down a congressman on corruption charges. Massive counts, overwelming evidence and plenty of accomplices who want to take someone down with them. Am I the only one pissed about this? Damit to hell get this SOB the first time he takes a bribe and get him out of the legislature for christ's sake!

All these people in the government are showing deviant behaviour by breaking the mores. Being the one at the top, as often as not, they are in-cahoot with all these connivers. They are figuring the easiest way to procure wealth - through graft. Alas, a recent poll indicated that 80% of teens nowadays are ready to take bribe if evert they are offered. This is showing an avalanche in terms of soical consciousness. We are heading towards a benighted tomorrow, indeed. However, bribery has been a social ill that rife ab initio. No effective social control has ever been able to curb this 'lucrative and plump' crime in every pockets of the world. Besides being caught with the pant down, as often as not, they are let go scott-free and such 'novelty', shall prevailed.

So it does make you really angry, that congressman can get away with this. but what can we do to catch people who are influential, rich and have power in the government?
