They already aired this on the discovery channel. Anyways, to the DNA subject, they're testing to see if everyone is related in the tomb, and carbon dating them as already mentioned in here.

DNA is made up of carbon. Extracting and carbon dating the DNA in the bones is probably the most accurate way to date it, so you don't end up dating dirt on the bones, or something like that.

I think the DNA analysis has more to do with how old the bones are, not whose they are. If they date back to when Jesus is supposed to have lived and died, then the chances that it actually is him are pretty good.

Speaking in New York, the Oscar-winning Titanic director said statistical tests and DNA analysis backed this view.

I wonder whose dna he's comparing it to. How do they know that Jesus is the Christ?

All common names separately, but all together in one place? What are the odds that those three names would be found in one tomb in Jerusalem dating back roughly 2000 years?

Well I could be wrong, but it's still unprovable, unless you can trace that dna all the way down the line of David. I mean, Jesus' heritage is listed in the bible, plain as day.

Also it's important to note that the people making these calims aren't scholars in this feild.

James Cameron is a movie director. He wasn't an expert on the Titanic, yet no one complained when he made a movie about it. It's the other guy (whose name escapes me) who's the archaeologist or whatever.

Mary was a very common name. So was Joseph, and so was Yeshua.

Also it's important to note that the people making these calims aren't scholars in this feild. Most scholars agree this is BS.

First flaw with this: There is no one to compare dna to. Second flaw with this: Mary was a very common name. So was Joseph, and so was Yeshua.
