I agree that regardless what the "emo" people claim to be (different, love-stricken, whatever), it is a very serious thing in Mexico right now with all the riots, but what will an "Emo Pride" day do to help? Isn't that why they are being shot down in the first place? They're flaunting around now as it is and dying. Something would have to be done with the offenders first, not the victims.

Out of curiosity...what is YOUR definition of "emo"?

Are you serious? It is my understanding that the type of people who classify themselves as "emo" are not the kind to participate in an "emo pride" day or join an "emo organization." Unless you are going to argue that emo kids have some sort of biological predisposition to dressing and behaving the way they do, I don't understand why it is necessary to protect a choice that people are making...you have freedom of speech and expression, that doesn't mean everyone has to like it. Nor does it mean that other people have to support it. quote: there just trying to be different...
And in doing so, they're all the same. Wasn't the whole point of emo to be different? If so, why do they all dress alike? Tight jeans, tight t-shirts (often supporting some womanizing band or another), straight hair with bangs in the face (often dyed black), skater shoes, multiple piercings...
