I'm surprised no one's said anything about this yet. If they have, I apologize and I shall go and get my eyes checked post haste.

Anyways, Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this year for his work in making people more aware of global warming. Any thoughts?

He did. I forgot the name though. They won the prize together. So it wasn't only Al Gore. He was just the more famous of the two.

He's done more than film a movie. He is a major part of SOS and Helped in the Live Earth concerts. Also, enviormentalism has been one of his main concerns for yeatsl. Meanwhile I haven't seen the movie, I think he's just become a representative of the enviormentalist movement in general.

I think that Al Gore deserves the Nobel Prize. The world is more educated because of An Inconvinient Truth. He contiunes to raise awareness that the world as we know it will be dramatically different in the future than it is today if we don't stop and think what we're doing wrong.

I think he may have shared it with a UN group, but I'm not too sure. Anyways, judging from all the recent winners of the Peace Prize, I think it may be more of an award for activism. Indeed, it's usually activism in the name of peace, but maybe the Nobel committee was lacking in suitable candidates.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. For thing, it's a prize about peace. For another, Gore is totally oversimplifying the global warming issue. He's not using good science at all. Gore's win is an insult to previous winners of the prize.
