Dr. didn't agree, but I do. When I heard he would be executed by hanging I thought exactly that- it seems to primitive. Even a bullet to the head would seem less brutal than a hanging. Quicker and painless. But Shade makes a good point- maybe primitive was the way to go.

Please, Primitive? Hanging as a method of execution is a modern technique. Primitive would be using an axe. Hanging is, however, a very violent method of execution. This is one of the reasons why I think we should bring it back ass the main method of execution for our prisoners. As for rights, Saddam ignored the rights of his citizens, and his execution is a direct result of that. For anyone interested, here's a thread from another forum that links to some video/images. Warning it's, as expected, graphic: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2254031Please note how his neck snapped. Very good job on the hanging. Horray for science!

a hideous mis-trial, one would have hoped he could have been put on trial for his other crimes and some truths could have been concluded. Tony Blair has spoken time and time again of Britain's opposition to the death penalty, and that is my, and most UK citizen's view. The courts of Iraq have begun in controversy, it isn't a good start for the judicial system.
