What do you guys think about the death penalty? Do you think he deserved to get the death penalty? Yes or no. I think he deserved it. He killed his wife and unborn son and thinks that he'd be found innocent. PHHH!!!

i agree w/ red republican about abortion but this thread isn't about abortion guys. This is about the Peterson Case. My OPINION is that he deserved to rot in jail for life. and then most likely burn in hell. Not unless by some miracle he became right w/ God in jail. (probably not going to happen) I watched the Peterson case closely. Scott Peterson acted like a guilty man the whole time. He didn't want to divorce her for then he would have to pay Laci money because he cheated on her and of course send the check for Conner. He is a selfish pig. He deserves what he got, though it may not be the best solution, i think he deserved it.

When will torture be introduced in the US? Damn, some people just deserve pain in death. The electric chair and the shot aren't enough.

In any case, this trial was over-invaded by the media. Many other women have dissappeared and are kidnapped and murdered, but nothing happens to them. In fact, I've heard race, social status, income, and looks take part in how media-invaded the case becomes. That's the true American spirit right there.

Redrepublican, its good to see you back my friend. But be warned the only that has changed since you left is the absurdness of the liberals.

Scott Peterson was smiling the day of his sentencing before the jury came back, laughing it up all through the trial, showing absolutely no remorse. I don't think that he would have been given death if he had cried, shown remorse, or any emotion associated with guilt. These aggrivationg factor overwhelmingly tipped the scales. Life in prison would not have been punnishment. This man feels nothing toward his act of murder and it is clear. There would have been no suffering.

*note: Unborn children are innocent, they have not murdered their wife and unborn child. They have committed no crime or sin of any kind. Murderers have taken lives, they have disrespected the sanctity of life by stealing it from some one else. That is how one can be pro-life and pro-capital punnishment.

I've been following this case because he is from my area. Anyway, I do think he deserves the death penalty. He killed two people, so he should die himself. Sort of like the China justic system, get what you did to someone else. 'Eye for an eye.'

What is the true purpose of killing someone?---Ok so there is one less person on this planet, what then? Revenge, justice, hatrid ... Is this supposed to be a person's eternal punishment (in Hell) ?!?

I still have yet to see what makes this case any more important or interesting than any other murder case.

If I was on the jury I do not think I would have found Scott Petterson guilty because I do not think the state proved him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt(I realize I was not in court to hear all the vidence and this is based off of what I read in the papers, but that is simply my opinion.). But I believe in our legal system so I agree with the State of California that Scott Petterson is guilty. Because of this label of guilt in first and second degree murder I believe he should be put to death. I do not think it is to easy. I think it is the ultimate reminder to citizens that if you violate the law in the most hanious way possible you will lose your right to life.

Scott Peterson has been found guilty of murder and is now facing the death penalty. I think this is letting him off too easy. I believe if they had left him to rot in prision for LIFE w/o parrol, he would have felt the true meaning of suffering. Yet, I do believe death is a proper punishment. Anyways, I have heard it could be more than 20 years before they can execute Peterson. I live in Daly City, just 30 minutes from Redwood City and about 2 hours from Modesto, a lot of people here have been coming up with other ways to punish Peterson. One that is a bit extreme but could be a pretty good idea is to tie Peterson naked to a pole in the middle of the San Quentin recreation area and allow the prisoners to do as they would with him. Leave him out there for a year or two. Anyways, what are your thoughts on the penalty and verdict? How would you feel if you were Laci's parents? How would you feel if you were Scott's?

I do not support the death penalty in most cases, and especially not this one...

If any of you were actually followin g the case, you would have realized that the only evidence was circumstantial and based on eyewitness testimoiny...I don't think that's enough to kill someone over, but maybe that is just me...

I do not believe in the death penalty, but in this case I don't believe that it is relevent. I believe that in the case of the daeth penalty you should not sentence someone to the death penalty because of his attitude. In this case, Peterson was convicted on mainly circumstantial evidence, and even though I believe that he is guilty, I do not believe that under these circumstances that the death penalty is the right way to go.

I think that it was a good choice for the people in the jury to recommend the death penalty for Scott Peterson. He seems just like Tommy Vercetti from the Grand Theft Auto series, because of his lack of remorse. He had a nice family, and was going to have a son, and if he didn't want to have a family, he could have divorced.

He was abso-****in'-lutely guilty. The testimony that would've done it for me is that of his mistress. The fact that she began to tape their conversations weeks before it happened shows that even SHE thought something was amiss with him. And his lack of remorse, his pompous attitude just shows that he is guilty beyond all shadow of a doubt.

Not that I'm 100% behind the death penalty, but this man deserves to die as sure as I'm sitting here.

A lo hecho, pecho.
