Hi everyone- I'm new here so be patient with me if this question is old hat. I'm planning a fund raiser for this summer, I think it will be a change collection which can span a few sates... HOWEVER.....I want the proceeds to go to a good YOUTH cause. All my participants will be young adults and youth spanning approx. from 12-24 so I want the proceeds to go to a cause that would appeal to this age group. If you have any ideas or suggestions in general I would really appreciate the help. Thank you! D

How about UNICEF or Heifer? UNICEF helps children in drought and other disasters. Heifer gives ppl animals instead of money (you "buy" the animal). Example: Ppl could use a cows milk for selling more than actual cash. Their websites are www.unicef.org www.unicefusa.orgwww.heifer.org

Thank you for your suggestions! I have considered the Red Cross but because of recent controversy over misuse of supplies for Hurricane Katrina victims as well as blood donation controversy a few months pst I think I will stray from collecting for that organization at THIS time. HOWEVER, as obvious as it is, I never thought of the Salvation army. That's a great idea and everyone can appreciate the people and lives the Salvation Army has touched. Thank you More suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Danielle

An idea would possibly be helping young children that experienced loss either through the hurricane or through the world trade center attacks. I'm sure you could donate the money to something like the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
