Hey I think that it would be cool to like, start a gay straight alliance on the boards. I am part of the one at my school and we literally have like 3 members, not including our teacher sponser. I thought that it might be easier here. So lets start the gay straight alliace (GSA)

I agree that it can be hard to start a GSA at your school if your school is close-minded. I live at a school where if you're even suspected of being gay you get beat up. There isn't one person out at my school because of this.

It is going to be an interesting (and perhaps painful) year since I'm going to try to start a GSA plus come out as a pansexual and genderqueer. My parents are worried about me trying to start the GSA because they think that some members of the community will attack me physically for it. Of course that is why I'm starting it. The community needs to realize that it happens and that are people who are gay in our community.

It would be cool if there was a GSA on the boards though. That way people who can't get one started at their school can at least take part in a GSA.

Everyone talks about starting a GSA in there school but maybe you dont understand how hard it is here.

Actually, at one point I tried to bring it up at the Catholic school that my sisters attend. I tried everything I could think of and all I got was people who were entirely too set in their ways and too blind to realize that some Catholic school kids are gay too. So, yeah, it's not always easy.

Everyone talks about starting a GSA in there school but maybe you dont understand how hard it is here. I know if i were to suggest one to any administrator at my school the would flip. They would say that its not nesiccary(sp? Roll Eyes) or its a to touchy subject for parents or something. Ive brought it up to some of my friends but how are 5 teenagers going to convince there whole town that people no matter what their lifestyle choices etc. are equal?

My school doesn't have a gay-straight alliance, and in all honesty i really don't think it would be accepted. I live in the south in the middle of the bible belt were gay's are constantly subjected to biggotry ,discrimination and taunting from close minded people. I'm a 16 year old straight girl but i have several friends who are openly gay and more who are afraid b/c they can't handle the pursecution that comes with being openly gay. i wanted to know if maybe anyone had ideas how i could maybe start a gay straight alliance at my school or something to show my friends and the rest of the world they are not alone and that they are fine to be who they are?

We should def. do that! Take action dont just say you want to do something and not do it. You have to prevail and show people that your not stepping back, Ill help you make this happen. I want to make more than a GSA group. I want to make it a website for teens to go to. Im a 13 year-old gay teen, who wants a change. With you teens we can all make a stand and not back down for anyone. What do you say?

Email me with ideas, questions, or if you just want to chat. aim-(Johnx113@aol.com)
thank you,
-John

Legalize gay marriage, and you'll have the same rights as them. They could marry members of the same sex and so can we. (<--- Inerrant Logic)

Therefore, your argument is indeed extremely weak.
