You don't have to wear uniforms or sell cookies or even be in a troop in STUDIO 2B (a program of Girl Scouts USA). You just pay $10 and you have access to round the world trips, awards, and amazing community service opportunities.

Go to the Studio 2B website and see what I'm talking about!

PS If you are currently a Girl Scout, shout out! Please post your council name here.

They had a Studio 2B promo thingthing at camp last year.... I named my pen Mel and wore him around my neck for two months, until he couldn't handle breaking anymore.
O'Fair Winds Council, by the way.
My brothers are in Boy Scouts, but my older brother's the one who does the hard stuff. After a campout, he's always all "Waaah, we had to dig catholes and eat soyburgers, you girls are lucky you get real food." Then I say, "Ha ha, you had to dig catholes and eat soyburgers while us girls got real food." Though I kinda wish the Timbers didn't coddle us so much. We need more walking.

Isn't "manly doing of boy scouts" an oxymoron? We should add that to the oxymoron list.

Pshaw. Silly Barkid. Where's the fun in bringing girls to interrupt the manly doings of Boy Scouts? Well, I guess my opinion is slightly skewed having quit when I was a wee 7th grader. Now that I look back, I think it was a bad decision. Especially since one of my friends recently made Eagle. And he's 16! Gah, that makes me mad. But you know why I quit? The horrible, horrible camping experiences. I could stand them up until the CAMP OF HELL. First off, I knew it was bad when I looked in the tents. "Oh wow," I said, "look at all the spray paint." Then my friend whacked the outside of the tent with a stick. The "spray paint" scattered. Turns out, the tents were infested with daddy longlegs. Now, being a slight arachnophobic, this was NOT COOL. But I lived with it. Until I stubbed my toe and it got infected and picked up a rock that turned out to be a hot coal (hey, it was 30 ft from the fire, how was I supposed to know?). The breaking point was when I woke up one morning to find a couple daddy longleg going for an outing on my sheets. I have no objections against roughing it, but what I went through at that camp would make anyone want to quit.

So here I am, feeling sorry for myself that I never even became a real Boy Scout. I was about a month from the test to become a Tenderfoot. But I still have the handbook, does that count?

my council is Reelfoot Council

Girl Scouts really stinks where I live... no one is active or does troops or anything... and its soooooooooooooo unorganized, but the camp is the best place in the world!!! (and no, we don't have air conditioners at our camp)

Thats what our troop was like(the makeup girls), then I switched troops and we were all manly. haha. Anyways, the boy scouts do have an organization for both genders combined. Its called Venture Scouting, and there is a group in my area but I didnt join cuz i was too busy. I'm still officially a Girl Scout, and I actually have to buy a uniform now because I got my Silver award over the summer. Did anyone here get their silver or gold awards? to raingirl, my council is buckeye trails

I wish that they were unified in some sort of 'everybody scout' program. But camping trips could be bad around that age- they're all hitting the 'Ooo, hormones' stage.

I'm surprised nobody already jumped on this, especially the zealous liberals... I'm even more surprised that I thought of it being a conservative... Shouldn't the girl and boy scouts be one organization and all learn the same things? They are teaching boys to camp and girls to cook... I know alot of cool girls that like to camp, and let me tell you it's fun to bring girls camping... but I won't say why.

i was a girl scout up until like 2 months ago, when my parents got mad at me for spending too much time on it...but I'm actually really jealous of the Boy Scout program because i would much rather earn ou merit badges than the stupid little things girl scouts earn. Also, your Eagle Scout awards are so much more meaningful than Gold or Silver awards. No one know what the heck a gold award is unless they were a girl scout. Oh well, i went to a studio 2b organizational thing, and it seemed like it was trying to be more up to date and what not, but it was kind of odd that when you earned something you got a charm for a charm bracelet...

What are everyone's cookies called? It's so wierd-they call them different things in different places! They all taste amazing though...yummy. We have shortbread(the plain ones), caramel delights (the caramel chocolate ones), thin mints (the chocolate mint ones), peanut butter sandwitches, peanut butter patties, and some other things. They keep coming out with new things, too! Why can't they just stay with the golden oldies?

The cookies are the best part of Girl Scouts, of course. And are SO much better than popcorn!

Too bad you don't get more for your money.

Anyone beg to disagree about cookies being better?

What's better? The cookies or the caramel corn?

You're just jealous that everyone loves the Girl Scouts more, what with their delectable cookies and all. I mean, you just don't get that Girl Scout taste with the Wal-Mart brand, you know?

And what do Girl Scouts do?

...

Well, I suppose it doesn't matter. They sell some kick-áss, overly priced cookies.
