The passing on of World War II veterans is much publicized. But there has been little publicity on the passing of our veterans from the Korean War. These patriot's of freedom lost more comrades each year than in any year of Vietnam. In three years the United States lost 40,000 of these brave young men. These veterans are men of character; They drove and held the Thirty Eighth paralell. They stormed the beaches of Inchon. These men defended a nation from being taken over by a tyrranical aggressor. It takes a patriot to fight for his own freedom. It takes heroes to fight for another man's. My grandfather in-law is a veteran and is ill, he patroled the chinese infested roads of the front lines. He is a hero, I don't know if anyone has ever told him as such. But I think I should before it's too late. The grandfather of my valued friend whom I visited many times passed recently. This man stormed the beaches of Inchon. I never thanked him for fighting for other mens freedom. I never thanked him for being a hero. I can only hope that others had. If you know any veterans from the Korean War, please tell them how valued their sacrifice was to the cause of human freedom. Please prove that we shall not forget these heroes who walk among us. -Brian "Freedom is not free"- Korean War memorial Honorablecoalition.tripod.com Whereas; This message has hereby been proudly deemed racism and bigotry free by the Great and Honorable Coalition Against Racism. FML: I guess it seemed as if I was challenging you. I didn't mean that you shouldn't emphasize the significance of the Korean War veterans. I was only agreeing with you that all war heroes should be treated with equal respect. By bolding "select" I meant not to stress any certain veteran group spoken of in the thread. I hope I make sense now, I've obviously been on Youthnoise for too long today. I'm just talking in circles now. I hope you understand what I've cleared up.

I agree. I was embarrassed when our politicians tryed to defame the service of John McCain, John Kerry, George Herbert Walker Bush, Bob Dole and many others. It saddened me. But I don't want to start debating that here. I just want to show respect. True, true. All war heroes should be treated as such, not just select veterans.
