I never wanted to be a girl scout. The only thing Girl Scouts do around here is sell cookies...nothing else that I know of. They used to occasionally go camping and once they went white water rafting, but that's about it.

We sat around sewing and doing crappy crafts while the boy scouts were out hiking and camping. And they say sexism has ended. Sheesh. . .

I've never been a girl scout, but almost all my friends in the States were one in elementary school. Myself, I'm sort of annoyed. Years ago, we paid one girl for their thin mints. They never gave us our cookies.

There are few of us....but the number is getting smaller. The new "studio 2b" and other girl scout programs are centered a lot more on fashion and fun then what they used to be. We still can do cool community service projects and other things but its a lot more self centered.

Besides, boy scout popcorn is kinda...nasty...yeah. I've dated a lot of boy scouts. It seems like every boy was a boy scout at least once. I'm really WorthWaitingFor...the new Noiseboards login won't take my username and password....

I was a boy scout and we went camping but we envied the girl scouts because every one will eat cookies not every one will eat popcorn

Never was, never will be, don't really want to be. I'm not big on the outdoors...or selling stuff...or getting along with other people who like the outdoors and selling stuff.

Three others girls from my troop (whom I refer to as the "Teen Girl Squad", go see Strong Bad) and I went to an event this week... we went roller skating.... And when I ran the thought by them and the leader that National Youth Service Day is coming up, they were all, "That'd be no fun!", "I need my money for clothes!" <--(I swear) and "I can't volunteer, I'm too much of a pansy!" It was bad...

I used to be in Girl Scouts but we never did anything except compete with each other on who could sell the most cookies... I think my troop went camping a couple of times (and this was 8 years ago) but I thought my leader was ugh..."weird" (if you know what I mean) and I dont like camping in a tent so I never went..

Our troops runs around cleaning up litter, but only once in a while. We seem to be more focused on having fun. ...I'll have to talk to the leaders about that.

I don't know what they do in the US, but here, the most they did was help out teachers one week every school year. Not a lot

My troop doesn't do much to sell cookies, but we do go camping. And I think I'm one of two or three girls in my troop who stays because she wants to, not just because her mom is a leader.
