So I didn't see a post about Habitat for Humanity. I figured that there should be one. Habitat is one of my favorte charities. They focus on building homes for people who live in sub standard housing. i am a current member ad have met people who get the houses. They are always so happy and thankful. Its an extremely rewarding program. Their website can be found here Is anyone on here involved with it? If not I highly recomend you join!

I'm glad that you all are saying that Habitat for Humanity is fun and stuff because I'm going to have my first Habitat experience this Saturday with people from my church. They do it on the last Saturday of every month. My mom and I are going this weekend!!

I just came back a couple of days ago from a trip to work with Habitat for Humanity in Louisiana. So I had to revive this thread It was actually pretty good, we worked on construction, painting and things like that. It was just a few days though, not nearly enough. It's a Christian organization so everyday before we got started they'd like pray and everything, and do like a little sorta' motivational speech or something. From my very short experience it seems like a good organization though, and apparently they have "sedes" or like worksites all over the US, and all over the world.
