http://hrw.org/I think is the best way to stay informed about human rights violations across the world. I usually read reports and then do more research on my own.

We are the dominant species on this planet. We have rights because we give ourselves rights. We set some over others and that is wrong. You have a ununiquely conformist rebel attitude and it's geting on everybody's nerves, Depressedwavemaster. Some people believe that everyone deserves a fair chance at life. Though it is an immortally up-hill battle, it is worth it, in the end. To make a difference--it's a damn good reason for living. I also reccomend HRC. It's a great site.

yeah, they are great. i really want to work for them one of these days. Amnesty International is another good one for global human rights issues
