I've never watched the movie. I'm not sure I want to because it would be one of those thinngs that it could never live up to the book, unless it was over 12 hours long.

Watch the movie Sweet Home Alabama. Then you'll get it. My friends and I were ubsessed(sp) with that movie 3 of 4 years ago, that phrase brought back memories. . .

What I always hear about gone with the wind is that it's full of that old style southern hosptiality which "beg pardon" is certaintly part of so based on that and kate's saying she'd never seen the phrase any where else
