Ah ha ha! Yesm, supposedly. Maybe it hasn't kicked in yet, or maybe you are a little different in timing. This is just a general time line of people, not exact. (Otherwise I would have said things like "19years, 4 months, 2 weeks, 6 days and 2 hours: On Top of the World Stage.....".)

Psychologically speaking, 11-15 and 55-65 up are the worst stages of life (most depressing) while around 16-21 and 30-35 are the best. Here's why:

11-15: The Awkward Stage; The individual is highly insecure, in large part due to puberty and the new peer groups being formed. All aspects of health (mental, physical and social) are dramatically changing in a relatively short period of time, creating a very uncomfortable time.

16-21: The "On Top of the World" Stage; The individual is reaching a more comfortable being with self and others and is exploring new possibilities as a developing person. This is the age most countries apply new abilities and priveleges, boosting this feeling even more than natural.

30-35: The Secure Stage; the individual has, by this point, generally decided on where he or she would like to go with his or her career, family and life. Financially independent (and secure) and beginning a family is what motivates most people to respond with this age as being most satisfying.

55-65 and up: The Everyone's Leaving and I'm Broken Stage; No kidding here, but this is about the time kids have moved out but friends and loved ones may also be dying, creating depression. Also, the body generally begins to drastically deteriorate, making this age a struggling one for most.

Heh, I don't know. It's certainly an ability I don't have anymore.

How did you wake up at 5 AM at 15? I can barely wake up for 7.

Best: 15 - Everything was going my way. I felt all spiritually in tune, and regularly woke up around 5 a.m. to go for long pre-sunrise hikes. I got seriously interested in much of the stuff I'm interested in now; it was almost as if I could actually feel my brain switching from childhood to adulthood status. I took time to contemplate the mysteries of life. I suspect a lot of people thought I was high. I was relatively fearless. Two cute girls had a thing for me. Oh, how I miss 2002...

Worst: 17 - The summer of 2004 was an intricate tapestry of anxiety disorders and the depression that resulted from them. I still haven't fully recovered, and suspect I never will.

The 8 and a half months I spent in the womb. It was all pretty much downhill from there.

Worst:
7-10- my awkward phase.

Best - Years 0-5: I probably couldn't contemplate the horrors and despondency of the world. Ignorance is bliss.

Worst - Right now: I think too much for my own good.

I like these calm little moments before the storm.

7 and 8 were pretty hard for me; I was dealing with some big changes and it just didn't sit well with the little kid that I was.

My best age would be 14... and I just turned 15. I wouldn't want to go back, though. I'm trusting that it will just get better.
