Attention teens - What do teens like to do while they are on vacation with their family? The Recreation Directors at Hotels and Resorts around the World want to know what you like to do for fun... Is there a way they can help you change the world while you are on vacation? You deserve fun time too!

My apologies if I was a bit short with you. Your first post gave the impression that you were a marketer gathering information under the guise of advocating youth activism, but apparently I was wrong.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far for your honesty. Actually this is not "Market Research" but it is "Research." I work as a Recreation Teacher who teaches other recreation teachers... honest. (You really don't want my whole work history, do you?) Anyway, I though this site would link me with thoughtful teens who could speak up for themselves about what they like.... I also expected teens on this site to take other people's likes and dislikes into consideration and maybe speak for them as well. I got the link for this site from a Youth Ministry Leader's Website. You are people who care about others and are trying to make a difference... that is how I started... teen leadership training.... advocacy.... cool projects... mission trips... etc... now I am older but I never stopped caring and working on cool projects... I just got "less connected" since a few years have passed. I do not work at one resort or facility, so this is not "Marketing", but that also means I have no way to poll the teens there, and anyway, they are in vacation mode... not creative thinking mode.... that is why I asked for your help. I don't work for any one facility... I travel and teach, and advocate for the people I am teaching others to care about... teens, youth, seniors, the disabled... I am trying to work for YOU. You have a voice, and technology I wish we had when I was 15 and taking the world by storm... ANYWAY...
I really don't care if people answer the poll as much as answer the question... What do you like? I am tired of seeing teens be forgotten... If you tell me... so I can tell others... maybe it could make someone's life a little better. That's all.
"You don't know what you are missing until you try something new!"
Well, that's not really all, I am working on a project trying to collect together recreation items (cards, puzzle books, crayons and paper, etc.) to create activity kits to give to Disaster Shelters... I live in Florida, and after the hurricanes... people were stuck in facilities for days and weeks without electricity and many necessities... and with nothing to help pass the time and keep them from going crazy while they waited. Now they know to pack necessities, but still very few people think to pack anything to help keep themselves occupied and peaceful. I'm not asking for stuff, just a wish of good luck for an "old teen" who is still trying to change the world in little ways every day. Blessings to you all for your help.

I understand that. I just want proof she says who she is.

Oh, no need to apologize Lissa. I was just wondering. Thank you for responding to my question.

Sorry... It was early and I obviously didn't use the best judgement in removing all of the posts...I can see your points of view. My thinking was that it might be a way to spread the word about YouthNoise... providing that they sourced thier information as coming from YouthNoise which I would hope anyone getting info in this way would do.

Eh, at least it's a somewhat interesting topic. And a survey is a survey...as long as it's not for a group we have some sort of ideological conflict with, I don't see the big deal. My main problem with this survey is that there's too many specific choices...I think most everyone who goes on family vacations does at least 3 or 4 of these things.
I really don't see why the responses were deleted. If this rubs people the wrong way, they should be allowed to express that.

While I don't think this is a direct violation of #8 in the Rules of Play (Posting unsolicited ads and/or promotional material or any other forms of solicitation including but not limited to mail fraud and pyramid schemes)...I think the fact that they are attempting to use our site for marketing research is inappropriate.

I also was wondering why our posts got deleted. And also, how come this thread wasn't deleted? Isn't it consider spam if it is for advertisement purposes? I didn't know that companies were allowed to survey us on this site.

Dear MsRecreationTeacher, While surveys on-line sites whose target age is 16-24 can be a good idea, I am not convinced that this site is a random sampling of the teen population. Also, for all you know, non-teens are answering this survey since it is anonymous. Therefore, there are a few other ways to get your information, such as mailing out this survey to random high school and middle school students across the world, or just by finding teens at your resorts and asking to interview them. These ways may ensure a better idea of what teens whose families travel like to do. P.s. Lissa why edit something out when most stuff like this is deleted right away? Are we not allowed to post opinions at our disgust? As far as I know, there were no personal attacks, and I've seen worse stuff on the boards. P.P.S. How do we know you are for real, this survey is for real, and you aren't just joking around?
