i have nothing against anyone practicing or believing whatever it is they believe and think that discriminating against a person because of their beliefs is very lame. i myself am an atheist

no. everyone has a certain outlook on life and a certain way that they take in everything. this outlook isn't a choice and may be a combination of biological and aqquired traits. the way one percieves the world i would assume plays a part in depression, as someone who thinks is more likely to become depressed as someone who remaind happy and stupid. i do not think that most depression cases are a choice, though some people may have the ability to will themselves to become depressed. but what would i know, i haven't been inside the head of every human being.

if by cure you mean treat with drugs so the symptoms seem to go away, then yes. if by cure you mean on a deeper level, maybe, maybe not. i think it depends on the individual, though in a lot of radical communities, more supportive and non-medically distant forms of mental health treatment are popping up. cures may be possible for some people in such environments, though for many, perhaps all they can get is management.

i have never played dunegeons and dragons so i can't really say, but i think it is only dangerous in that it drains time, money, and possibly the interesting portion of someone's character. i don't believe it will consume you literally or send you off to hell, if that's what you mean
