im sick and tired of the government changing history to satisfy one or two people who feel offended about something that never happened to them.
1. indians killed just as many whites 2. i never owned slaves, so i dont owe their ancestors anything 3. gay is a lot easier to say than homosexual 4. and finally, as if anyone but an arab would be caught trying to board a plane with a bomb strapped to his chest, not a little old lady from the retirement home down the road.

Number 4 didn't make sense but I get what your saying. Yeah political correctness can be lame at times. It just keeps people from being honest because they feel pressured to be PC.

What is the politically correct word for "overweight"? None of them sound good....obese, heavy, big boned...
I always feel like I am rude if I get in front of someone in a wheelchair, I am always afraid to ask what is wrong with someones child if they are handicapped.
Can we all just be humans and forget the rest....no, of course we cant that would be too easy.
Just need to vent on this topic, I feel better now....
Actually...the Canine Americans...it's already happened. PETA (I think it was PETA...maybe it was another similar organization) already suggested that they be Canine Americans. EDIT: It was the Animal Agricultural Alliance. Here's their press release: http://www.animalagalliance.org/email/HSUS_091106.cfm

I agree clpo, and seriously people, last I checked, women were not a minority. In fact, I believe it's 51% female 49% male, right now. No, seriously, I'm pretty close to the bottom (I'm a white, Christian, straight, female)...the female thing is the only one. I've tried to publish, and I've seen magazines and publishers for only blacks, or only women, or only Jews. What would happen if we had an only white, or an only men? Nothing cool. The ACLU would be on them in no time. My mom is a female engineer. Why is she one of the few? Not because people don't like them. Heck because she's female, she's never had any trouble getting jobs. But when she was in college she went around to highschools encouraging girls to get into engineering for awhile, cause they wanted her to, but then she realized that, maybe these girls didn't want to get into engineering. Maybe because of the way that interests worked out, there will always be more male engineers than female. Why don't we just get over this, there's got to be equal amounts of everything in every field.

I (mostly) agree with the first three, but there are plenty of people liable to blow up or hijack airplanes, not just Arabs. Better to check everyone than profile and miss an unlikely terrorist. I dislike political correctness just as much as anyone, especially when it's touted in the name of equality. How is it equal to give more help to minorities than to majorities? I'm a middle-class white male, which means that I'm actually on the bottom of the heap when it comes to things like scholarships. Of course there are going to be hundreds of women-only or Hispanic-only scholarships (all in the name of affirmative action), but when anyone sees a white-only scholarship, it's racism. Double standard anyone? Sorry if I seem overly annoyed about this, but I strongly feel that people should be judged and treated solely on the basis of their merits, not their race, skin color, gender, orientation, or anything else not directly related to their merits. I've lost out too many jobs to underqualified people simply because they're a minority race and I'm not.
The more you know, the less you don't know.
