Well... i'm really tired of all these stupid forums about punks, i am one, but it seems like all the other "punks" are dumb, so i want to talk about something a little more interesting. ABORTION, everyone that signs these boards seem to be a bunch of hippies that can't stand for anything, so i want to know what everyone thinks. I personnally think it's murder, it's that simple, and if you want to make the world a better place by murdering your unborn child you better have a good arguement, because i know i've heard most of them, and i've never lost a debate on this yet.
therefore discontinuing life support is also murder?
i argue that life while in the womb, as well as life on life-support, is not synonymous with life as an individual already born and living independently. therefore, the circumstances surrounding such life cannot be viewed through the same perspective. that's why i fail to equate an 8 week abortion to murdering an 8 year old child - i refuse to lump them in the same category.
Of Course embryo's need the enviroment of the mother's womb. If a person requires life support- such as an respirator- does that mean he is not a human? Abortion is ,at best, discrimination based on age and location.
quote:Every component needed for life is present in the embryo after the moment of conception.
that is untrue. take a zygote a few moments removed from conception and let it sit out in a petri dish and see how long it survives. there are dozens of extra-embryonic factors necessary for the development of a human being.
mhhm. ahem. Abortion is murder. what is my basis for this? Simple Every component needed for life is present in the embryo after the moment of conception. from there it's simply a matter of the development of what is obviously a human being. If you don't draw the line at conception, where can you draw it? saying life begins at any other point is ridiculus- A baby is a pile of cells one second and baby the next? What is the big difference between the embryo one second and that same embryo the next that would warrent such a declaration?
Funny how everyone seems to think it's such a complicated issue.
just to let you know, its illegal to have an abortion after the first trimester, because then it becomes an actually baby, not just a blob of cells. In my opinion abortion is morally wrong, but it shouldn't be outlawed. Its the person's own private choice, which I and no one else for that matter should have any say in. -Molly
well now...i am all for abortions...but the ones that are carried out into 8mths of pregnancy i dont really agree...they should have done it long b4...souldnt do it that far into it unless its an emergancy...but in the begining of pregnancy all i have to say is its the mothers choice, no one else has the right to decide for her...when its early enough its not a baby, its a thing of cells
oooo boy here i go abortion, i have some wonderful pictures of babies sticking out of trashcans ummm... some more of doctors sucking out the infants brain o but it's perfectly fine right there not born yet. that's crap some abortions are carried out around the eighth month of a women's pregnancy so that would mean the child is almost born...yeah i'ts your choice to murder
There is actually 4 active ones (ones created or posted at recently). However only one is getting real debate (it's not this one). There are also related topics already open like "A Woman Should Alwyas Have the Right to Choose" and "Does the Father Have a Choice?".
I only mention it because I like to be involved in these conversations (or at least keep track of them). When there are two going on, it's a lot harder. Anyway, there's no reason to keep creating new topics on the same topic, is there?
Actually this is doing more harm than good as I said below. Not only that but it's spawned yet another abortion topic, once again in "Ending the -isms" where it doesn't belong. There is a certain coherency to this site. Please make it easier on everyone else and just post your opinons there and join the topic already started.
I think this is such a complex issue it is impossible for me to say 'right' or 'wrong'. Personally I don't think I could do it. But there are some people who are parents and really, really shouldn't be… So who can say? Every situation is different. Myself, I would feel wrong having an abortion, but I feel secure in myself that if I had a baby, even now, I have the family support around me and the attitude to be able to cope. Not all people have that luxury. And what if the baby was conceived from a rape? Most issues I can decide on but this is very, very complicated. It's one of those every-shade-of-grey issues, where each case is different. In the end I think it is the individual's choice, they have to decide whether to make that sacrifice. It can't be an easy decision to make, and it's something I do not feel qualified to judge.
i totally agree. ppl who are all against abortiona and all for children need to adopt rather than populate the earth with more unwanted brats. they need to adopt if they care so much. theres so many kids who nobody wants, if i ever want kids, which i dont cuz i HATE them, but if i do i will adopt because the world is too populated. if you want a kid, take one thats already here that nobody else wants.
say a kid was going to be born deaf, dumb, blind, and a quadaplegic? it would be cruel to make it live. oh, and abortions are mostly done when the 'baby' is a ball of cells (de ja vou!). do you make a fuss when you cut yourself. didnt think so, thats killing cells. and im gunna tell you something smart@$$. if i ever get pregnant (though i will try not to) i will have an abortion. whether its ILLEGAL or NOT. and so would half the other ppl in this FREE country. oh, talking about FREE. abortion is a womans RIGHT. a PERSONAL right it is NO ONE elses busnesis what the F*** she does with her body. NO ONE's. You cant talk ppl rights away. *couBUSHgh* so if your against it thats okay, its your right to be and everyone elses, but its NO ONES RIGHT to try and take that right away from everyone else.
Unless you've coined a new word "abortionism" this doesn't belong here. Additionally, there's already a debate on this going on. So if you want a real argument and you want to put your money where your mouth it I suggest you go here: Abortion, instead of creating another useless thread.
There's nothin wrong with abortion...True, some methods are cruel like partial birth abortion but i think that's been outlawed... What happens, though, if you're a 13 year old and u get pregnant... I mean seriously dude, ur parents hafta take kare of it, not u... and further more, some people just aren't physically or mentally able to handle children let alone have their own... it's the mother's decision whether or not she wants the child... adoption is just going to crowd the world and take up more space as oppsed to just killing off unwanted offspring. If women who want children would just adopt, the the world wouldn't be overcrowded like it is now...
