quote: To be fair, I've done my fair share of putting Texans all under one umbrella, and I sincerely apologize for that
This quote was taken from the Texans/stereotype thread, but this is the point I want to make: Why apologize for generalizing? What is the hype over all the stereotyping going on? So crime statistics and media reports pin the number of violent crimes in urban areas on black people; so, naturally, a woman would be more apt to be a bit more cautious about waving her purse around...this isn't racist it's being aware. Many Hispanic men will stare at you for long periods of time, often for just the sake of staring. Yet when making a generalization that "Many Hispanic men stare" is considered highly offensive and "racist." What the f? Texans - and I know this first-hand - are generalized as nothing but incest-bred hillbillies, but we all know that's not true. Many are, but not all. Just like blacks being criminals. Not all are criminals, but many are. Not all Hispanic men stare, but many do. So what's the fuss? If you're not that stereotypical role, say you're not, prove it, and move on. What is all this apologizing and other jazz about? So what, it's human nature that we would give people the "benefit of the guilt" before knowing the honest truth about someone. It's nothing we should try to reprogram. It's human nature! Come on, how many Jews on the forum have been stereotyped as jewelers or money-hungry blood-sucking tax accountants? Or even better, "the Jews control everything." Not all Jewish people are like that. Not all Jews do not believe in a Messiah. So what's with the hype over stereotypes? I'd say, if there's a "bad" or "offensive" generalization/stereotype about your "group" or whatever, become an example and make yourself stand out as not one of those labels. Toss out the apologizing and the ultrasensitivity training. Leave that for the Special Olympics or something. And above all else, lighten up about it and learn to laugh at yourself when new or old stereotypes are given! http://www.joeydauben.com

Joey, everything you post on here has to do with the fact that you love stereotypes. Can we move on to a new subject now?

Joey is an amazingly obvious stereotype.

quote: Well, first of all, "many black men are criminals" is a ridiculous untrue stereotype.
Re-read what I said, CommieSmurf; I did not just stereotype the black race; I actually used crime statistics from urban areas showing that much of the crime is committed by blacks. And what's wrong with saying there are Jews who believe in the Messiah? Or let me rephrase: many who believe in Messiah as the Son of God...??? One of these days, sometime soon perhaps, you'll actually agree with what I have to say.

Yes, keep telling people that if they do not clean up their acts and worship God, hate homosexuals, or think for themselves, then they're going to Hell. Right on, my brothers. Also, stop with the self-glorification, Joseph. We know about your website, which is why many of us do not visit it.

I shall try. People stereotype me as a redneck and I don't mind that. I can't post directly anymore for the time being. Oh well, at least I can still post.

___I'm actually pleased with the title of this thread because more people need to realize the difference between "hate-hate" and "stereotype-hate". If you hate somebody because of something they had no choice in their being(like skin color)... then you are a schmuck. But if you meet a person and just can't rightly stand them... then you're off the hook, hate away.
___Oh right, and if you're like me(yes I know it's a funny thought) and you hate everyone... then that's ok too because it's not being prejudiced when you hate everyone equally.
