I would really like for someone to tell me why they hate God and Christians so much. And not one of those "They hate me because I'm not Christian" excuses either. I know that no one is perfect and we all are born sinning and sin everyday. I know that their are some twisted people out there that say that they're Christians and do hate people because they aren't, but they obviously aren't living the Christian life style. Please if you use any scripture to prove me wrong try to get it from the new testament.

I don't hate Christianity. I think at its core, Christianity is a pretty neat idea. I do, however, hate bigotry and prejudice. I'm gay and I grew up in a very Christian household. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of your religion, but I do respect it. The only time I'll take a jab at a Christians's beliefs is if they take one at mine.
Why make it sad to be gay? Doing your thing is okay. Our body's our own, so leave us alone. And play with yourself today.

i find myself a dedicated atheist. i don't hate Jesus or what I see the idea of god. i would just rather rely on myself to get me through hard time cause well...its more reliable than praying.

I admit I do not know much about Christianity, aside from a few things it teaches. I do, however, think that Catholicism is somewhat corrupted. (Primarily due to the fact that many Catholic organizations require their church-goers to pay money to the church if they want atonement). Other than that, I have no problems with Christian beliefs...

that's quite a better question. often one of the biggest problems is Christians who don't know why they believe what they do. (then there are those who say they are Christians but do not even know what that means.) of course christianity is so foolish to some people. hardly anyone knows why they believe at all. and instead they spend their time asking people why they don't. it is not simply enough to say you are a Christian and then patronize the rest of the world for not being one. You'd better be pretty darn sure. How can it be worth it, if you have no apologetics for your religion?

You ask why some people don't believe but then you ask why they hate God. Well, if one doesn't believe in something than one can't hate it. I don't agree with some aspects of Christianity because it seeems to use fear to control the people. I don't want to be controlled. I aslo don't want to give God credit for everything.

I'm Buddhist so I don't hate anyone for their religious beliefs & I do not express hate period. I don't believe in the Christian god because there is no evidence to prove that he does or does not exist & even if he does his existence will not impact my faith or daily life for I follow no man or god to the end. I follow Dharma. I follow wisdom & knowledge. By the way, I'm down with Jesus. He was a good man who died for those he loved.

as long as i am a good person -- this is what counts. i've probably given back alot more to people in need than many religious people.

Look, everybody, I am an atheist, and I don't believe in God simply because I cannot believe. I can think there is a god, but then I think about life in general, and how cruel he is to some people. I am not ragging on anyone's religion, I certainly wouldn't want to do that. but what about darfur? those who say that god loves everyone, don't realize that praying doesn't stop it. people die every day, at the hands of others. it doesn't help all of the people starving in africa. it doesn't destroy AIDS. it doesn't stop mass murder. it doesn't help the sick people in hospitals all over the world. and for those who say, as so many who I know do, that this life is a test, and heaven is god's reward- what about those who don't believe? are they doomed to pain for eternity simply because they didn't think there was enough evidence for god to exist? or that they didn't know about christianity or islam or whatever at all, and lived their lives in total innocence? are they doomed to be sentenced to hell? or will god show them up to heaven, simply because they are his children? I would love to believe in a god, in fact, I have spent a great deal of time looking for evidence toward his existence. but all I see is evidence against him (or her. whatever.). maybe there is a god, and there is a method to his madness, but to me, it's still just madness. I wasn't brought up believing in god, but no one specifically told me he wasn't there. I just can't believe in him, either because he never showed himself to me, or he's never there. and, I don't wish to change anyone's beliefs. I ahve many friends who are religious. they try to show me god, and I go along with it and decline. I don't hate christianity. I don't hate Christians. I don't hate the idea of god. all I hate are those who hate others.

When I decided I wasn't christian it was for a few reasons: 1) Why should someone only look at a book for all of the 'answers'. To build on this, the bible has been translated so many times, has different versions, and the books chosen by men. Constantine chose the books of the bible, and so the christian religion is truly manmade, and then the whole thing with the catholic bible having more books than the protestant bibles. And that leads to an inter-christian battle because the first bible was the catholic bible, so the protestants just dropped books to fit their doctrine?? So many unanswered questions... 2) The christian religion is so unaccepting. If the bible really does say that the only way to heaven is through JC, then that leaves one heck of a lot people doomed to hell. And I've heard different stories about kids how never hear about christianity (like some african tribes), do they go to hell, when they don't even know about JC?? 3)What makes christianity more plausible than other religions? Enough said. 4) If christians are 'god's children' and are supposed to live in jesus' image, then jesus must be a twisted deity. christians are supposed to be like jesus, and so their actions (and recurrent actions, not just something bad that might have slipped) reflect upon that deity. So, when christians are so unaccepting and cruel and ruthless, that is what the god is turned into. And with that negativity, why would you want to associate yourself with it? That's about it...

well, to tell you the truth, a lot more is expected from christians than from anyother religion. maybe its because they judge so harshly, but i think its because so many people dont see that were all human and can make mistakes. when anyone else makes a mistake, people just blow it off, but when a christian makes a mistake, we all have to point and scream and jump up and down till they feel horrible and even more prejudice is put on chritianity.
*sigh* its true and im not denying i do it too.

i'm a christian. im not biased and i believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, thats why i dont diss or discriminate other people for their beliefs. what i dont understand is why everyone talks so much crap about christians and christianity . isnt there anything in your religion thats says not to do do that, or is that just us?

i havent been reading the messages, but to respond to the origional question... just like to say now that i dont hate christians, i obviously try to avoid them. i was a christian for ten years, born and bred, but now im not. every christan i have met has screwed me over, from betrayals to hating to discrimination. i know this is not all of you, but why i left that religion is because of this. i have yet to be proved wrong. depressed wavemaster

I don't hate Christianity. It is a good idea in theory but its what people make of it that is wrong. The crusades, blaming things on pagans and the opinion that every other belief is wrong. I hate when people try to force it on everyone else and when they call everyone not Christian an aetheist. (Even though I am an aethist with no beliefs beyond evolution and what is scientific fact.)
