In my world civ. class me and my partner have to do a debate on whether or not juveniles should be acted as adults in crimes like murder and others ... We had to decide on which age we were going to debate on and we picked 14 or 15 years old. I don't know too much on this topic and I just wanted to know what everyone else thought of it. P.S. We're negative so we don't think they should be acted as adults (we didn't pick it) Please post your comments, they'd be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Basically, you are going to want to do some research about brain function, and find evidence that brains do not fully develop until x age. I'm not sure of what the statistics are, but I know they're out there. Then rhetorically ask the audience to think back to when they were 14/15 years old, and what they think of some of their choices now. Do they really want to live with some of those choices for the rest of their lives? Highlight what trying a minor as an adult would mean for them...an open record (as opposed to a closed juvenile one), longer/harsher sentences in prisons inappropriate for someone of their age...
