There has to be a better name for this forum!

What about the good isms?
Buddism (the religion. this is a personal opinion, but it should not be ended), tolerationism (toleration of religious differences)...
How about the phobias?
Homophobia (fear of gays), Islamaphobia.....

Any ideas for a new name?
There has to be one...

All isms aren't bad like Buddism, but the sexism and all the derogatory ones have to go, I know what most of them are because people don't know how to respect others which is a must for todays society

And the isms discussed here are discriminatory isms. If religion is indeed discrimination (which in most cases I believe they go hand in hand) then by all means discuss them here. However, it isn't completely impossible to reach the conclusion that Ending the Isms refers to ending discrimination. Sure it isn't strictly isms. However the discrimination that is in the front of everyone's minds ends with ism. Racism, Sexism, Anti-semitism. Besides, who are we to question the YouthNoise Gods? *shrugs and awaits another slew of argument*

P.S. Don't you have something better to argue about?

Actually, you're discriminating the discriminators. Ironic, but you're doing it.

It may have been created to discuss discrimination, sure. It also has the overtone of completely ending discrimination. That doesn't mean that the arguements are not without merit.

As for "Ism", meaning you dislike it, then anything I add "Ism" to is bad. Of course, what you're forgetting, is that "Ism", refers to any belief, ideology, etc.

So, Bhuddism, is an ism. Judaism, is an ism. Activism, is an ism. These can all involve discrimination to some point. But I don't see any threads screaming we should end activism, which is actually a form of discrimination if directed at a specific group.

Chaos I think we can all agree that discrimination is bad and if you can't agree to that then you've got some growing up to do. Ending the Isms is a play on the fact that you add "ism" to a word and it means the dislike of that think. That's so fashionism. Retarded as it may seem, I believe this board was started to discuss discrimination...of anykind.

GTQM> Bad is a relative term.
So, arbitrarily deciding what is right and wrong, is purely up to you.

As for the name, leave it. If someone wants to argue ending Buddhism, or Tolerationism, or whatever, let them.

First of all it's pretty self-explanatory that it is referring to the bad "isms". I mean don't take it so literally bub. This is where you go to talk about discrimination of any kind. I think this thread is a total waste of time and the only reason I responded was to let you know that. And because I like reviving useless threads...in fact *heads to the archived threads with a devious laugh*.
