I don't really see what the problem is, cause even if you are married by a religious establishment, you must still go before a lawyer and have the paper work done because the religious ceremony itself does not constitute a legal marriage under law. So really, i don't give a flyin flip if you christians don't like the idea of gay marriage, cause guess what, i'm not a christian, and i will not allow your religious objections to control my life. If you don't like that, fine, but shuttup and grip amongst yourselves, because i will not have your religious beliefs shoved down my throat like this and i fully expect that soon in the future, gay marriage will become legal, and i will laugh when i see the horrified expressions on your faces.

what i mean by an insitution that rests on the population, I am saying that it rests on each indivual for thier own personal use. An example would be the freedom of speech. Each person is allowed to speak freely, reguardless of how it impacts our society.

Marriage is different because the freedom of speech is not something handed out by society like marriage is. the freedom of speech is something not taken away from the population, and is therefore a lack of socitial interference. Marriage is its essence is socitial interference because it is handed out by the society, and it is because of that that it should serve the society as a whole.

his name is Jason Alexander, but that's besides the point.

There is no doubt that the Spears marriage was a disgrace, but the reason that that these things happen is because our society doesn't do enought to enforce marriage. For example, a person in California (and probably Nevada) can get a divorce on the basis of 'irreconsiable diffences' which is where one person wants to get out of the marriage, (s)he dosen't have to even provie a real reason. By doing this they are destroying marriage a seriously as in my oppinion the homosexual agenda, by removing another sacred part of marriage, one that is in the ceremony that goes like this: "...till death do us part"
