i think that it is rather ignorant to be discussin this at all. to me, people are people no matter what the color of his/her skin. we all have the same genetic (?) make up so what should it matter what color the skin is. its like saying you wont date someone because they have red hair or blue eyes or they have a certain height. why whould it be any different about what race they are. seriously people, what is the world coming to when people cant even look past the outside and see the beauty within. Confused

I am a result of an interracial marriage! My father is west indian(black) and my mother is Morroccan an arab, my father used to roman catholic but converted to islam to marry my mom. I was raised in 2 different cultures but that makes a child smarter, not ignorant, very cultural, open-minded brilliant. (I'm not being conceited, I mean that I know more than people with one race do.) I think it is great to keep u family with one race and one culture and one religion but if you end up in a situation of love, you need to sacrifice for love there is nothing wrong with it.

Interracial relationships are a beautiful thing. It is not in anyway disrespectful or of disregard to the people of any culture. People have the right and the freedom to date whomever they want and if someone else takes offense to it, then that's their problem. I would prefer to date outside my race.

Well, I don't know how this thing turned from interracial dating to interreligious dating to doubting God's existance, but I'll comment on each just the same.

I'm fine with interracial dating, myself. Love, in my opinion, is blind..

As for interreligious dating... I've been there, and not all of it's been in dating. I can't tell you how many people hate me at this moment, and I can't tell you how many of those people used to be my friends. My guru and most of his students are Christian, and Bible Study classes led by him occur once a week. Sometimes he'll ask us about various things that they've discussed, and it's incredibly... uncomfortable, for me, at least. Childhood friends turned their backs when I revealed that I was an atheist.

Not too long ago, I went on a date with a guy I knew vaguely from school. It went relatively well; we discussed things as large as what had been on the news last night and things as small as the last episode of some reality TV show. We both seemed to have open minds when it came to politics, and we both seemed to have similar interests.

Near the end of the date, I casually asked him about his views on the theories of evolution. I wouldn't've cared if he thought differently then I did; I was mostly curious to see his views. He discussed the Christian beliefs for a few moments, but after hearing my opinions, he became almost.. frozen. I haven't seen or heard from the guy since.

This is the U. S. of A, people. We have the right to believe whatever the hell we want to. My former friends shouldn't be telling me how stupid my beliefs are. I shouldn't have to loose a promising relationship because of what I think.

I wasn't brought up religiously. In my opinion, I'm lucky for that. I wasn't told a thing concerning religion. I wasn't told what to think, or what "really happened". Yeah, I went to church, and I still do -- I'm attend a Unitarian Universilist gathering -- one of the few of our area -- and I'm proud of the fact that I can barely spell it. My parents didn't put pressure on me to believe in a certain thing, although my mother's ideas seem to be mostly Christian. And given the chance to briefly study and interact with a variety of religions, I figured out my own opinions about them.

I'm not trying to change your views, for the religious people out there. But have you ever tried considering the other person's arguement?

I have thought about it, but I only come to the conclusion that God is the only way we could have such complex bodies, minds, and this great world we live in.

You only need to be saved once. If you are truly saved, you can't lose your salvation, although you may at times doubt it, especially when you're out of God's will.

All you have to do is believe that He has saved you by dying on th cross for you and kept you from going to hell. Also, being in a religion and baptism does not save you.

You're can't be a Christian unless you believe that God sent His Son to die for you and to take away your sins. You can't just go to church and be a Christian.

It doesn't matter what I think, it matters what God thinks. Also, wouldn't it be a struggle when you have kids? And when he wants to go somewhere when you have a church thing?

Christian/non-Christian relationships are a sin, because God said that we should not be "unequally yoked" together. Plus, it's really hard when you have different beliefs.
