White House threatens to veto hate-crimes billThis simply proves that our president supports justice and equality for the people that he likes. This is outrageous in my opinion, to not support a bill that tries to combat violent homophobia. People say that this will make it illegal to preach agaisnt homosexuality. Well yes, if that includes beating up the next gay couple you see walking down the street. So no, it wont infringe on anyone's right to be peacefully anti-gay, regardless of how closed minded it is. There really is nothing bad about this bill, but apparently Bush thinks there is. And that reason is that he hates Americans that find true love in people of the same sex, or of both sexes, or have changed their sexual identity and he couldn't care less if they all die.

I don't know that he doesn't care about their lives, exactly. However much I hate Bush, he's not evil; he's just slightly. . . impaired. In the article preachers are talking about how it would encroach on their freedom of speech. Yeah, right. It wouldn't encroach on their freedom of speech unless they were telling every one to go shoot their gay neighbors. But then again, the KKK is allowed (incidentally, 1st Amen. rights. . .), so I suppose he'd be okay telling their congregations that. I'd write more, but I have to go. All in all, I disagree with the veto (duh, I'm a HUGE supporter of civil/equal rights).
