Roman Catholicism is a denomination of Christianity, but it is still a religion. And no, the OT does not mean as much to them as the NT. In my whole life, they never read anything from Leviticus at Mass. They only read the good OT stories that promote peace and love.

CrazyChild, we are not trying to get any of you to stop believing in the Bible or believing in the religion that you follow. All we want are for you guys to realize that we are not the same religion as you and we do not believe in the Bible, so you cannot use any of your religious arguments as proof.
"Because the Bible says so," can be your primary argument that you base all of your stances on, but that will not be enough to convince us that you are "right." You need evidence that everyone can see in order to sway us, because we do not believe in the same religious things that you guys do.
You can keep going on and believing homosexuality is "wrong" if you want to. We are not going to stop you, because we can't. But all we are trying to get you to do is stop for a moment and question whether or not your stance is actually "right." Also, we want you to be respectful, because that is the main message that your religions preach.

We're not "arguing" per say. Simply discussing, with heated language sometimes inserted. Most likely no one will change their minds, but some of us do and WILL object to hate boards being posted.
You do realize you're Roman Catholic, right? Therefore most of the Old Testament isn't relevent to your religion? If you're going to use the Bible to your defense, at least use the New Testament, because if you follow one rule in Leviticus you should follow the 600 someodd others. Like Xia said, Leviticus also forbids you to cut your hair above the temples or touch anything of a pig.

I'm not preaching. I'm showing you what's actually in the bible. Why don't you pick one up and read it. It says in bold letters that a b*stard and his descendants or a man with an injured groin is not allowed to enter into the church (Deuteronomy 23:1), if you don't believe that, well then now we know for sure who the ignorant one is around here.
I may pray to the Moon but I'll have you know I was a Christian for 12 years before that and I still read the bible, even though I don't believe in God. There are probably Christians out there who know more about Paganism than most pagans do, yet still firmly believe in their God. And like Xia said, you can not pick and choose what you want to believe/preach in the bible, it's silly. You can't be a violent, angry, and hateful person and go around telling people homosexuals are evil because the bible says so, when the bible also says that violent, angry, and hateful people are evil as well.
Anyway, I think you better make sure all of your ancestors didn't have any children out of wedlock before you go to church again.
