I agree with the statements that saying women are better than men is just as bad as saying men are better than women. Here's a few things that I've heard over the years, girls on average do better in school than boys. Boys have a higher percentage of "geniuses" (super-human smart type people), but also a higher percent of retardation. Women on average are better fire-fighters (whether or not this statement is completely true I'm not exactly sure) Men usually have less emotional stress and can usually look at a situation without being incredibly sentimental.
I don't know if this really says anything to add to the discussion, but someone will find it interesting.
"Yes, I'm a genius. In a dim-lightbulb sort of way."
Why does every girl that claims to be a feminist believe that women are stronger then men? No they are both equal. Men got rights before women and thats not right. Girls wanted to go to school and get jobs to prove that they were equal and we basically proved it
Feminism is not EVIL...jesus christ what an ignorant statement...I do think that women should be equal to men, in every sense of the word. I think we should have to sign up for selective service, I think we should be paid the same amount for the same labor. Equality isn't always glamourous, it doesn't mean getting all the perks and none of the downsides, it means we all get the same everything. That's the way the world should be run...
quote: I would have to disagree with the women being smarter idea. Its true that women tend to have more neural connection between the left and right part of the brain, which is why women tend to be more in touch with there emotions. Women also tend to be better at linguistics, which is why women tend to be better at communicating, and also women tend to be better at multitasking. Since women are better at communicating I believe more women should be getting into politics because I think in general women could do a better job. But men generally are better at visualizing and tend to be better at spatial concepts, which is why men tend to be better at engineering, geometry etc. This ultimately really depends on what you define as being "smarter".
I'm aware that I really didn't need to quote dj, but I'm making a direct reference.
I agree with dj for the most part, but I simply think that people - regardless of sex/gender - are smarter than any given person because of their education, their society, and their learning abilities. I don't believe intelligence has anything to do with one's gender. I think being gifted in certain areas of math, science, etc. can be genetic (e.g. if your father was a rocket scientist, you'll probably do well in math). That's simply my opinion.
But this whole "women are smarter than men" BS is just that, along with "men are stronger than women" which is BS too. I can't even see that as a generality, because everyone's genetic make-up is different.

If you want me to explain the evolutionary reasons for these differences I could explain, feels good to put my anthropology classes to work.
Men and women aren't created equal. Women (in general) tend to be smarter while men (in general) tend to be stronger. BUT, I think they should be treated equally (like none of this sexism crap). They should be able to have the same options and opportunities (like dj said) as men.
Disturbed: About the hitting girls and giving up your seat thing; it's man's fault in the first place for making that a norm.
I don't know about the combat thing. Sure, women aren't as strong, but a gun can kill anyone if the person using it knows how to use it. But if women are captured, they can be tortured far worse than men can.
What do you mean by equal? Do you mean women should be able to have the same opportunities as men traditionally had, yes I believe so. The main problem in this whole debate is people fail to distinguish the difference between Gender and Sex. Sex is objectively real and true to all human groups, while gender is based off cultural interpretation of the biological sexes. The only roles that are objectively real are for the male to supply sperm and the female to incubate the baby. The problem is when people start making gender roles, which are very dangerous generalizations. Yes generally the female sex makes better caretakers, but the key word here is GENERALLY. This generalization doesn't even take into account economic problems, living habits etc. Also I can understand why women got involved in feminist movement; it was mainly due to the fact that society was treating women like a sub-human. Yes some will say that feminist movement lead to a lot of problems in today’s society, this partly true. Yes when a child hardly has a parent around this will more the likely lead to problems. But why should just the women be assigned to taking care of the child, because of a generalization? That’s my rant for the day hope it made sense.

*Grabs ******* ouch!!!!! wtf, they just censored the word c r o t c h !!!!!!!!! Don't mess with the *****.....your've messin with my sexual motivation. That's not feminism, that's sexism.
